Derby fans a disgrace

The amount of violent crimes perpetrated by men against women is a fucking disgrace and common misogynic views shouldn’t be acceptable and they should be called out where they exist. These opinions are held by some men, and there’s far too much of the bollocks like “the worlds going soft” which is given as an excuse for it.
Why do most fans now not sing those lines?
There's no link between people singing that song and the type of person who murdered those poor people this week.
Your willingness to throw something like that into what should be a sensible discussion is disgusting.
Particularly when talking about fans who are willing to shout any shite to make some effect.
Get a grip of what you say, to who and under what circumstances.

Not left behind far from it, the world evolving?? More murders an racism than we've ever known but yet people cry over a stupid chant?!
Stupid chat you stand in front of 2000 wankers calling you a sex offender in front of kids for 90 mins I bet you wouldn’t say it’s a stupid chant then. Just remember there the scummy cunts that taunted him about his kid

I'd say its a stupid chant pal and I'd also give the interview that Billy has

Do you really think that? I think the link is obvious. It's about how we value & treat women in our society.

Im not trying to argue with you pal but did you see how hurt, angry Billy was in his interview? Anyway rant over massive win today Billy certainly had the last laugh anyway onwards and upwards COYRAWW

I will totally accept that as Deej highlighted it’s probably not the time and potentially could have had an impact on some on here with ties to the family. I’ll ask Foxy or Linz to delete that paragraph/comment in case that is the case.
I’m also steadfast in my view that there’s a link with societies generationally accepted misogynic views and violent crimes against women and chants like this are a clear example of those views. It’s not a case of the world going soft if it’s challenged and I’m glad most others believe the same.

First, none of us know why that scumball did what he did.
Second, it is a very slimy way of trying to 'win an argument' about a football song.
Whatever point that poster imagined he was making, would have most likely turned the stomach of most right minded people.
I have a wife who I have supported through mysogonistic work environment. Less so than many, but I am well aware of the problems women face, and what a violent nasty bunch some men can be, and the damage they can do.
My comment stands, it wass out of order posting what he did.

Just to add to this, a young family member was raped earlier this year. She sits on the kop and says the “shag your women” song now makes her feel physically sick. Any volunteers want to come along and explain to her why she’s wrong to feel like that because its just “bants”, so she must have “gone soft”? Serious offer.

Cunts sing it and cunts defend the singing of it.

Where are you coming from on this? I take the low road. Women are dead. It's on the News. Why are you pushing back on "why". Focus on "who"

To be fair the chant does not say 'rape your women'.

There is a big difference.

I know twatish men kill and abuse women. Bringing the killarmarsh murder into a thread about another issue, shifted into a different song, with spurious assumption about the words isn't necessary. The poster has asked for it to be removed. I'm not interested in deep diving it here.

For the avoidance of doubt. I do not think anyone who sang "you Black Bastard" on the Shoreham back in the day murdered Stephen Lawrence. But I think there's a link.
Similarly I do not think anyone who sang "shag your women" on the Shoreham last week murdered Sabina Nessa. But I think there's a link.

What? You're in deeper than a very deep thing.

I'm against the song "shag your women". I'm as shallow as that.

Are you for it?

What are you on? I'm not 'in deep' on anything.
It's a song with dubious words. Does it condone rape and murder or even mysogony? No.

If you then think bringing the local murder into it is ok, even the poster has asked it to be removed.

If a song or chant has lyrics you don't approve of then don't sing them. It's as simple and as complicated as that.

Only guessing like but may just have summat to do with the objectification denigration & demeaning of women (perhaps even your gran, mam, partner, sister or daughter?)

Almost one in three women aged 16-59 will experience domestic abuse in her lifetime

Office for National Statistics (2019) Domestic abuse in England and Wales overview: November 2019

Two women a week are killed by a current or former partner in England and Wales alone

Office for National Statistics (2019) Homicide in England and Wales: year ending March 2018 (average taken over 10 years)

In the year ending March 2019, 1.6 million women experienced domestic abuse

It's an attitude of toxic masculinity. The implication is that the wives won't really have a say in the matter.

It's not a song about rape but it's a song about taking what you want. You being a 'Shoreham Boy' , you're 'drinking' their beer, you're 'shagging' their wives. Both are 'taking' something. It's like something from the '70s and I'm surprised any women want to be in the middle of that kind of 'Neanderthal' atmosphere.

It's one step below 'he'll shag who he want to' and sung by largely the same people...
