There will be a fans forum held on Monday 25th July at 1830.

Anyone wishing to attend please contact [email protected]

There is only 1 rule at these forums:
You want to make yourself heard come with an open mind and be constructive. Abuse of any kind will put a halt on these forums. So it's in everyone's best interest to remember there is more than you there.

There will be Official Club members attending this forum. Some confirmed, some still pending.

Well done for organising these things. I believe your last one did a lot of good in relation to DW.

I should like to lead a delegation of RAPFA members, but:

Can we have a video link from a real ale pub? We'd sooner not share a room with the Teenage Illiterate Lager Drinkers.

Would it be possible for a couple of us to re-enact the battle scene from Act V Scene V111 of MacBeth during the drinks interval?

:)

I'm sure you will be well served in the ales department if the location is the same as last time.

Whatever rocks your boat Pinchy.

Any question, officials will be there to answer anything.

It is the same place Bob.

It is the same place Bob.

Might see your there then, depending on a few variables which I have no control over.

Why is the venue not openly disclosed - why not have it at BDTBL?n Most people behave em sens don't they at these things?

Also, Kopped, I find it very weird that you have this 'Love United Hate McCabe' sign off effort yet stress that these thinsg are meant to be constructive.

I'm all for non-constructive abuse of McCabe and the players so no problems with your sentiment of course.

However, these secretive forums make no sense at all to me.

Very disappointed you don't get cryptic clues like "my first is in car but not in gear" etc etc.

Maybe we should start playing matches at secret venues too? Ticket page should be good.

It isn't secretive. Email the guy and you'll find out where it is.

I've got no interest in going whatsoever - no interest in being bullshitted to for 2 hours but I would imagine the role of communicating with fans who are interested in being bullshitted to for 2 hours would be enhanced by simply saying via club website or even an advert in The Star that there will be a forum at BDTBL with club officials present.

Like it!! Who will it be? Will it be Deardon? Will it be Batho? Will it be SImon McCabe? Who knows - it's just so exciting. Meanwhile we go into a season with Doyle looking like he will feature.

You mean like they did when it was all going well??

I would hardly say things were going well the time of the last one at BDTBL when Birchy announced himsen to us Blades as a really passionate man who knew his stuff, especially about the Ched transfer. Is that what you mean? That we did hold em at BDTBL when things were better? To be fair McCabe, did ask the muppet show in the other week.

Mic. Time was when these sort of things were published in the Stir, on the Website and on the Radio - often brought to us all by Rad Sheff. Big Kev would come down from the mountain amongst his believers and deal dismissively with the negatives (play-off failure, sale of Kyles, too many loanees etc) with the kind of charm only Victor Kiam can come close to. A quick soundbite "I'm firmly on the case/the ambition remains to be a top 10 club" and an ovation the length of which even Thatch used to tire later messageboards would be humming with Len-based attcks on non-believers.

Now, a room above a pub, or a room in a pub, someone from the club may or may not be attending, e-mail for details. Compare and contrast.

If the club have to do this so that they don't have to deal with a few rogues because of appointing an incompetent manager, then it should really ask and answer a few questions for them.

Why on earth they can't make things like this official & informal is beyond me.

What constitutes abuse? Telling the Chairman/ manager/ fans rep that they're shite.... and giving justified reasons? If they want fans who will toe the line, then they will of course get this, but if they want an honest/ open forum then they won't get this from here.

Why is this being organised through yourself Kopped? Where is Batho? Or are you Batho in disguise?

I am away anyway and too be honest I feel more detached from the club nowadays that I can't be arsed with this type of thing, midweeks (or even mon/ fri) are almost impossible for me with less than 2 weeks notice.

I agree with you Raul my old buddy. It's all totally laughable. Get a communications bloke in and then hold it cloak and dagger in the tap room of the Creek and Paddle

Not 100% certain but I believe the location isn't published because the landlord doesn't want it to be.

Please try and keep in mind that this isn't organised by the club but by a few forumites, therefore they picked the location.

Its to make sure none of the Pesky ones attend

The Forum location isn't published to the public domain through the Hosts request. I respect his wishes and so should everyone else.

It's an open forum, everyone is invited.

To answer a few questions myself.

Q. What constitutes as Abusive?

A. Gobbing off, threatening, shouting, abusive accusations. Ask questions, positive or negative, both are welcome, be constructive and calm about it. There is no need for hostilities.

Q. Why is this being organised through yourself Kopped? Where is Batho? Or are you Batho in disguise?

A. Because I want the club to talk to the fans directly. Answer personal issues the fans may have. I want to try and build that bridge between the fans and the club. I want the club to re-engage with ALL the fans.
I am not Richard Batho and I converse with Richard, as well as others, regularly about what's flying around the forums and the talk on the street.

Q. Why is the venue not openly disclosed - why not have it at BDTBL?n Most people behave em sens don't they at these things?

A. I have answered why the venue is not in the public domain.

I have chosen a neutral venue to keep the Forum Informal with club Officials present to answer genuine questions from fans whoi have issues with the club. As I said before, all are welcome.

*My signature: It's no secret that I don't trust KM, he's a millionaire for one and he's upset me with his political answers for another, but I am a Blade and will always back the club and NEVER boo the squad on the field. They all get my full support as soon as they cross that white line onto the field!

Any more questions about these forums? please, ask away

Cheers Kopped, thanks for the answers. I still think that the club should be organising this at the club and in a less than clandestine way

Anyone remember Howard Wilkinson standing on the steps outside Hillsborough attempting a meaningful conversation with the Wendy intelligentsia?

That is something worth avoiding.

I will be there it was a good meeting last time.
The only down side was the lack of free food :p

To be fair Swiss, and as I have no interest in going anyway, surely you would get more out of an informal meeting with a few fans and club officials rather than the orchestrated bullshit fest that the organised ones used to turn into.

Here is one golden rule:

"If McCabe says it, don't believe it". You can have that for nowt.

Your chances of a century are somewhat curtailed by the lack of opportunity for some Len cross-examining I'm afraid.
