The question has been asked regarding where Guedioura fits in our current system. My view is that he's been brought here to add some experience if the flush of youth suddenly hits a brick wall. Hope we continue as we've begun, but if he's half as good as has been suggested then we'll need his experience at some point during the season.

I think he is just here as cover just incase anyone gets a knock.

I'm thinking along similar lines. Given the mental frailty and performance anxiety our experienced midfield had been showing I think it was also to support them re-finding their form, or in other terms, pulling their heads from out their arses.
If he can see us through to January when Vieira could be an option again I think it'll be a smart piece of business.

Wow. This is gonna be interesting. He could barely move for us last time he played and, bar the odd worldy goal (and I mean odd) looked ready for putting down. Hopefully for you chaps he's been doing Yoga and drinking his Turmeric.

I certainly wouldn't have him as a "nasty general" either. More of a "when it suits him mercenary". Still, if Slav gets him happy he might put in enough shifts for you chaps this year. Back in 2012 he was a top Champ player. One year contract is at least sensible.

I think he is just here as cover for the rest of the midfield and apparently he has been training with the squad for a while. So I doubt we would have offered him a contract if we hadn't seen enough from him.

Competition for Norwood.

Lacks mobility, loves a challenge, keeps it tidy in possession, rarely ventures forward - general views of Forest fans for whom he last appeared for in England.

They also didn't think very much to him.

Fair assessment of his playing style or do you see it differently?

Kinda. Lacked mobility in his latter stint with us definitely, still put himself about though so can't grumble there (he was just behind the pace unfortunately, so a lot of his hustling didn't amount to much), not tidy in possession and more likely to lose the ball through hollywood passes or shots from miles out. Occasionally though one of those passes or shots do come off and it look mint. Both were way more common in his first stint with us than his second stint.

Sadly, sounds a bit like Norwood. The game is probably moving too quickly for him to keep up. Hopefully that doesn't turn out to be true.

Comes across really well in his interview. Seems like a low risk, sensible signing to me.

I don't expect him to play too often, but can see him being a decent sub when we need to close down a match or against opponents who have stronger midfielders and limit the likes of Norwood on the ball. If he pops up with an occasional worldy as well, then all the better.

We are also getting a bit heavy in the squad with left footed midfielders, so he brings a bit more balance as a right footer.

Just on pork talk for some light relief.

They refuse to play for Wednesday part 927.
I do miss Flashing Blade.

I hope they've signed him as an interpreter for the manager.
I even have a problem understanding Scott's, so for me he is a nightmare........

There's no doubting he'll have a physical presence which will help. But, I think you'll be h

He was a cracking player for his first stint with us. All over that midfield. Bags of energy, strong, positive, aggressive, threatening from outside of the box. The type of player you pay your money to watch.
