Do we have a song lined up for this guy?

It's the important news I crave.
Obviously has to be an update on as 70s classic!...

I make it 12 if you look at minutes on the pitch and/or squad numbers and assume that Ndiaye has declared for Senegal

16 England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 (Baldock, O'Connell, Basham, Brewster, Sharp, Lowe, Freeman, Foderingham, Robinson, Bogle, Davies, Osborn, Gibbs-White, Brunt, Gordon, Jebbison,)

4 ROI 🇮🇪 (Egan, Stevens, McGoldrick, Hourihane)

3 Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 (Fleck, McBurnie*, Burke);

1 each Sweden 🇸🇪 (Olsen), Norway 🇳🇴 (Berge), France 🇫🇷 (Mousset), Northern Ireland (Norwood), Netherlands 🇳🇱 (Verrips), Senegal 🇸🇳 (Ndiaye*), Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 (Norrington-Davis), Algeria 🇩🇿 (Guedioura), Poland 🇵🇱 (Lopata)

He did well when he came on. Very calm on the ball, someone we could just give the ball to and he'd escape the pressure and move it on. The great ball to McBurnie showed he can play it forwards too. He didn't look the quickest and may not be a 90 minute man, but he may be useful in scenarios like today's, where we'd like to avoid the opposition building momentum and getting too much on top.

Yes he offers something different and experience.

Smart signing.

Inclined to agree don’t think he has the legs to play week in week out or be a driving force in games where we need to be taking the game to teams but to close games out and be neat and tidy he looks to have that in his locker.

I thought he did ok too, may well have helped us see out the game if he had come in last 10 against Preston

Looked sharp and more mobile than I expected. Also, not a pure sitter. He moves with the ball up the pitch and makes himself available to receive and give. Decent outing. On that showing, a useful addition.
In his first interview I recall that he said he's good at bringing the ball forward - sounds very simple and obvious, but one of our problems has been too much square passing or backwards.

Another good debut ....different to the rest of our midfield as he tries not to give possession back the opposing team wherever possible

By movement, passing forward and playing one good ball to McBurnie he would had been autoinclude in starting 11 before transferwindow.
I remember him better than Hourihane, but they are bit different players anyway.

It looked like he didn’t have the legs for even 26 seconds when he clattered their bloke just after he came on, though he did get there as soon as he could 🙂

Very tidy debut I thought, calm head, didn’t give the ball away and looked to go forwards.

He was clearly brought on to stamp some authority into midfield and give Hull a taste of the rough stuff they had been dishing out.

I just never expected him to do it in the first 20 seconds. 😂

Fair play to him, he'll come in very handy this season.

A walking card in my opinion, but in a good way. Sets his stall out early and definitely a passing forward type player. A bit in the style of Mo Besic, without the finesse!! 😂

Thought he did ok. Looks a broad unit.

if there’s a little criticism from watching him today and its most probably because of lack of match fitness, he looked a little cumbersome in possession

Early days and I’m hoping a few matches in and he’ll look sharper.

Nailed that Hull lad in no time at all.

Their players needed it after all of their antics during the match.

I thought he was one of our better players tonight. Calm and ensured and is not slow! He ran back to close down one of their very nippy forwards and actually made it too.

I agree thought he had a really good game played the holding role really well made some good tackles and tracked back and broke up the play on numerous occasions. Should have done better for Southampton's goal mind but other than that he had a really good game. As you mentioned actually looked like he was covering some ground when sprinting there was a occasion i remember where the ball was played in front of him with a Southampton player probably a couple of feet in front of him and I remember thinking he has no chance of getting to that sure enough he proved me wrong and out ran the Southampton player. Looks like he will pick up a couple of bookings for us but he won't let us get ran all over that's for sure.

those blades XI’s from every country are going to be a lot easier!

Just need someone to make a tackle in midfield. Might stop us leaking unnecessary goals. If he’s fit we need to give him a go (as long as his repertoire isn’t as basic as his first tackle in a Blades shirt).
