Edit: I have done loads of voluntary work with people with learning disabilities and autism issues over the years and met some brilliant people and an initiative like this will change lives for the better with little cost. I'm impressed. Well done United.

But the problem is you chose to soapbox on a thread about facilities for autistic people. It's an emotive subject that people who are connected to the condition of autism will be glad to see some good news about, not someone hijacking it to make a point that can be made elsewhere.

BLADES LAUNCH SENSORY ROOM

Here at Sheffield United, we are extremely pleased to announce the official opening of our first ever Sensory Room, helping to make Bramall Lane as inclusive and accessible as possible for all of our supporters.

Our new Sensory Room is located on the John Street Family Stand, in full view of the pitch, and has been designed to help encourage and support those wishing to attend Bramall Lane with additional sensory needs such as hypersensitivity to loud noises, bright lights and overcrowded spaces.

Our Sensory Room is wheelchair accessible, soundproof with low level lighting and hosts a wealth of specialist equipment, including a breakout sensory den, bubble tube seating area, wall mounted sensory toys and both indoor and outdoor seating areas, as well as being managed by our professional and qualified staff team.

The Sensory Room will be available to book during all matchdays starting from the Derby County fixture onwards, with the room being available on matchdays from 1 hour before kick-off, until 30 minutes after full time, allowing for a quieter exit from the stadium at the end of the game.
