This is a post that is clearly advertising what we do/have done. You have indicated in other responses before is 'not for you' which is fine of course. Of course I get some people like podcasts, some don't and some people may enjoy, some won't different ones too.

What I don't get is the fact you have taken time (again) to tell us why it's not for you? Which you have done before? Why click on the post and why write a response? I get it is a forum and thus people share views of course. I don't understand though why you would waste your time telling us it is a waste of time 🤣

As for the not wanting to talk to strangers or listen to other chats etc..I've had some great chats with rival fans/Blades fans in pubs/trains/matches before...I'm not necessarily going to be their best mates or ever see again but that's what Football does...you often talk to people you never would. It's kind of different to real life where I agree you might not do that. However having the attitude I've got my friends and who I know is a bit.... don't come into my village/circle of mates ('League of Gentleman!')

As I say I get podcasts aren't for everyone but it's just an odd way of quantifying why you would not listen rather than just these guys are twats and annoying (more accurate!).

You are happy to come on a forum and converse with complete strangers and read others views? So it's just oral conversations rather than written ones you're not a fan of? 🤔 That's fine of course I suppose.

Anyway for those who listen...if you are fans of Right Said Fred, Mike Lake and Fresh Prince of Bel Air...this is the content you have waited all your life for.
Sorry I've been so long in replying - real life got in the way.

I commented on the post because of this ............. "Let us know what you reckon. Not about our 13-year-old music tastes though. We can’t do anything about that now"

So if you'd rather not hear a negative review please put something like ..... Let us know what you think, unless you don't like our stuff then please keep schtum. Ta.

Each to their own, and all that. It's like when I'm in a restaurant for example and the food isn't good. I don't really complain (unless it's dog shit of course) but pleeeeeese Mr Owner or Mr Waiter, if you really don't want to hear what I've got to say then don't approach me with that fake smile and ask me the question. Cos you'll get an honest reply. Not big, hard or clever, just a personal opinion.

However, on the other hand, I am very quick to give very positive reviews and feedback too - as I often do. Call me old fashioned but that's just the way I am :)

I responded in kind as I felt your response was worthy of one itself. It's not about not taking criticism. I/We deserve lots!

I also get you don't like podcasts like these and you gave reasons why....you don't like listening to other people outside of your own mates opinions seemed to be the gist of it? No problems with that. Fan/pseudo celebrity 😉 podcasts are not for everyone.

Out of interest you come on a forum to read other people's views willingly so is it just the spoken word you don't like?

However, the bit I fail to understand is you know we are a podcast and you have replied before to to tell us you don't like podcasts like ours but felt the need to tell us again...without ever still listening to one I assume (to use your analogy you'd surely have to taste the food in a restaurant to send it back or say what it was like?)

You then said 'Thank fuck I'm not part of your group' based on what we said we spoke about (most of that is tongue in cheek chat btw) which was just a bit odd I felt especially as you said you weren't slagging anyone off in a post straight after that!

If you ever listened by the way there are plenty of other reasons to dislike it....such as my terrible sound quality or annoying voice - than just not wanting to listen to strangers!

I have finished your podcast and will now give you musical memories and one football memory from that season, which coincided with my first year at University;

1. I do not listen to much music, but there are two occasions in my life when I can remember exactly where I was when I first heard a song, and this was the first: a mate of mine was having a birthday in the autumn and he was given a CD put out by an American band, imported from the US, as a gift. He put it on and I was blown away by the first song. It was called “Smells Like Teen Spirit”. Still listening to it 30 years later.

2. Whenever Brian Adams was selected on the jukebox in our bar, someone pulled the plug out.

3. The Right Said Fred song that caught on that season for us was Deeply Dippy. Legs that go on for miles and miles.

4. Dizzy by Vic Reeves and the Wonderstuff was tremendous.

5. The first home game after I left Sheffield for University was the 4-2 win v Forest. I listened to Sport on 2 in the University library that afternoon. For some reason it took ages to confirm the final score. I had not missed a home game in 3 years. I have rarely felt so bereft, and so alone, as I did that afternoon.

I have listened to bits of your stuff in the past (not much though I must admit, but enough to form an opinion) so how much food must you taste before you can decide you don't like it? I guess it boils down to this......... we all meet up with our mates, we all visit weird and distant places, we all drink shite beer, take the piss mercilessly and generally talk bollox about our beloved club. It's just that some people (99.9% I would guess) don't feel the need to announce to the world where we are, what we think, what we are doing etc etc etc. If I'm honest, your stuff comes across as 'trying too hard'.

Ha, you don’t listen to much music, but your crossover with out pod is pretty much 100%. I don’t know whether that’s a good thing or not…

Three pods in a week? We’re spoiling you. Well, we’re spoiling something at any rate.

In the next international break, we will probably record another one of these, so what seasons would you like to see? Hear. Whatever.

Ideally late 80s onwards and not too recent, but we will consider owt.

If Tufty Club is try hard I dread to think what it would be like if they tried less! I enjoy the pod, despite not really understanding any of the references having never seen Cobra Kai

Ha, exactly what we said to each other. Any less effort, and we wouldn’t even click record.

Cobra Kai hasn’t been referenced for weeks now, but will probably get a mention in December when the new series arrives. It’s honestly great (in a cheesy way), give it a go if you get chance.

GET YER VOTES IN. At the minute, the split vote on the 90s is making the noughties one run away with it. That or people love to hear about a bit of Warnock grinding.

If I remember correctly, Beans and Roygbiv have done entertaining podcasts reviewing 1997-98 and 2006/7.

I am surprised 1997-98 is so low as its probably the most incident filled season in our recent history, and arguably our entire history.

I'm not on twitter but I'd plump for 1995-6. A season of two halves if ever there was one, and some damn good music.

95-96 was my pick. Musically it was really exciting with all the British bands and also with us getting a new chairman and manager.

Unfortunately the public want Warnock and Razorlight because, on the whole, they are maniacs.

Have they? In fairness though, they will have been talking about football rather than Wayne Quinn’s hair and what the Spice Girl ‘batting order’ would be, so I don’t think there would be any toe-treading.

Please say Razorlight wasn’t actually that year? I only put that on Twitter as it was about the worst thing I can think of. It was the start of the peak of Landfill Indie though wasn’t it? Jesus.

Well I get where Snake is coming from, people were asked what they reckon so no point getting upset if someone isn't bothered about listening in. At least on the forum if you don't agree with something you can discuss it but a pod cast you either listen to someone waffle on with no way to join in on the conversation or you switch off and don't bother. I'm not sure why some seem to think it is such a big deal. I have never listened to anyone's pod casts, like Snake they are not for me I just have better things to do with my time, not knocking those who make podcasts or those who listen in, if you like them great.

Not just any Razorlight, but 2nd album Razorlight. Pretty sure there was the New Rave scene as well - fill yer boots, loads of landfill

I love how this has started to become the “tell us you don’t like podcasts” thread. Might start piling round all niche threads and chucking my oar in.

“Well you may like Northern Soul, but frankly I have better things to do with my time”

“Video games? I’ll have a laugh shooting aliens with my real friends in real life, thanks”

“Nothing against people discussing putting their views on the internet, but… oh”

Oh dear. Wasn’t there also ‘New Grave’? I think this era marks the time that the NME had basically given up.

Aren't you the mardy arse................. boo hoo

Aren't you the mardy arse................. boo hoo

To be fair, they put in a lot of effort and produce Blades 'product' that a lot of us enjoy and are very grateful for.

If you don't like them, or podcasts in general, then that's your choice.

On a thread that set out to be informative about what is available and even had 'podcast' in the title, you might of thought that people who didn't like them would just drift on by. It's a bit much for anti-podders to wade in telling them, that stuff they don't intend to listen to, is rubbish.

Just my two penneth' and I have no connection to any of the lads who do the pods.

The season you are doing is absolutely spot on for Tufty Club. I'm all over Deadbat talking about a relegation. It's the music. There is no need for anyone to be talking about The Ordinary Boys in 2021

Cheers. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m not a big podcast listener either, so I totally get others who aren’t… I just wouldn’t bother going around telling people that I don’t listen to them.

I actually really liked their first album… though that was a few years before this season I think. But yeah, it’s gonna be dismal football and dismal music. Perfect.

I'm hardly wading in, one poster said he wasn't bothered about them I just said much the same so I can see where he was coming from. The ones wading in are those that like the podcasts. Maybe don't ask for opinions on them if you can't handle that some might not be bothered about them, like I said if you like them great no need to pile on a fella who doesn't is there.

Oh no it doesn't look like it. If you can't handle peoples opinions then don't ask for them simple, not everyone is here to stroke your sensitive ego. I'll remember not to bother looking at any of your content I might just upset you in fact best thing for it is to put you on ignore with others who I don't listen to after all I have better things to be doing.

Not for me pal. I'll do my own talking bollocks with my own mates before and after the game. Why would anybody want to listen to somebody else's conversation - which is basically all a podcast like this is 🤔 It would be like a total stranger pulling a seat up to your table in the pub and sitting there, nibbits in hand, earwigging at what everybody has to say. You'd just tell him to fuck off 😝

As for away games, well if your prematch experience is "predictions, waffle and weather reports" thank fuck I'm not part of your group!

No offence meant btw, each to their own, I just don't get why everybody these days wants to be a pseudo celeb..... why can't peeps just go to the games, have a few beers and take the piss amongst their mates, without feeling the need to share it with the whole world?

Can you please stop trolling this thread. Nobody cares that you have chosen not to listen to podcasts and that you have better things to do with your time (you do seem to have found the time to post pointless and self righteous comments in this thread though).

Deadbat wasn't asking for your general opinion on podcasts as a broadcast medium but on the content of his specific podcast that had just been released. If you haven't even bothered to listed to it in the first place then why you think you have the right to comment on it is beyond me.

😂
can’t work out whether I’m being trolled or he genuinely thinks we’re offended by criticism (each to their own, innit?), let alone feedback that’s the equivalent of:

“Hello, what do you think of my chilli con carne?”

“Well I think it tastes like shit because I’m a vegetarian”

And now he’s blocked me, I guess I’ll never know. Forever up there with “can Oli Burke actually see the touchline?” in life’s little mysteries.

Fucking hell, that’s a big emoji for someone who rarely uses them.
