Great another new poster. Another thread about what Wilder achieved. The irony is this is a moaning thread about moaning.

All I want to say is stop the pessimism! Momentum is a crucial part of success in life and football. Energy and momentum go hand in hand and right now this forum is toxic and so too is the atmosphere at the Lane. We shouldn't be turning on any Blade whether they're wearing the shirt on the pitch or sat behind you on the kop, United we stand.

Get behind our team. Get behind our manager and get behind our board. Don't get me wrong I love a moan as much as the next Sheffielder but, this negativity has to stop and it starts with us the fans.

Apologises as this thread could have been linked to many other threads, particularly ones trying to identify our weaknesses. Before covid the lane was rocking and optimism led to great victories. Wilder brought together the fans, team and backroom staff. However, we are United not Wilder, we should stay united and get behind our team win, loose or draw because, I guarantee you a big, optimistic, loud fan base makes a difference in every division in football.

Bring back those thirty minute non stop chants of "Sheff United, Sheff United, Sheff United". Let's make the Lane a fortress. Let's tell everyone that we are here, even if it is to shag your women and drink your beer.

Up the Blades!

Yeah, its not that toxic at the lane but patience has run out among some of our support.

Hi, Stegosaurus here,

I disagree. If anything, chanting could be a distraction. Now, ive never played football, but I play golf, and wouldnt play as well if someone was chanting "United we love you" nearby.

I expect the same is true for football players.
'He's dull, he's bland, he's chipped it in the sand - Stegosaurus! Stegosaurus!'

'He hooks to the left - He slices to the right - That Stegosaurus, his driving is shite!'

'High handicap and you're over par - High handicap and you're over par - High handicap and you're over par - High handicap and you're over par..... etc...'

Just as a matter of interest and just between us, where do you play your golf exactly....? 😉

There's clearly a huge golf between you and everyone else on here.

I’ve wonder how much effect pessimism and optimising effects performance?
If most of our fans are predicting doom and gloom…saying it’s obvious we‘ll struggle then does it become a self fulfilling prophesy.

I remember when I was a kid in the late 70’s
the number of times old guys used to come up to me and say
”Sheffield United…….always the bridesmaid but never the bride” and
”You do realise you’ll never experience success supporting United….you should support Man Utd or Liverpool”
”Sheffield United have always been a selling club…so whenever they have a really good player you can guarantee they will be sold”

You even here comments like “why would player X join us?, any player with ambition would be made to join us”
It’s almost like a form of self harm….some of us are trapped in a cycle of wishing harm on the club they support.

have we moved the singing section now from bramall lane upper to shoreham now

He’s green he’s big
No dinosaur but a pig
It’s the steg it’s the steg

but seriously i didnt think there was anything wrong with atmosphere at huddersfield, its a myth propagate by globalision of TV coverage. no uk team is loud for 90mins you have your peaks & troughs. espically the 1st 25 mins of 2nd half was as loud as i can remember

Definitely!....on a personal level, if I keep on thinking I can't do something like pass an exam, and keep telling myself that.....I'd be putting a barrier up, making things tougher than they need to be!!

Multiply that by many thousands of people doing it for decades.....🤔😳

Ah well, no better time to change that than now....🙌

Who’s the bastard in checked plus fours, who’s bastard in checked plus fours…..

Don't know what decade your all living in, but gone are the days when football supporters were about as thick as treacle mixed with gravy granules, morons who would sing stupid bullshit regardless of the performance and score are long gone.

All fans watch shit in silence, it is the same everywhere, it will only get noisy again when the absolute bottom of the barrel is scraped, and that won't be a nice noise for the club.

Spin zone: Derby fans sang non-stop on Tuesday and we were silent, Derby lost. We need to remain silent.
