I don't see a way he can be worse than Norwood and especially Fleck has been so far this season.
It'll be a short term deal and he's actually not scared to put a foot in (I'm expecting at least 1 red card if he gets many games).

I suppose he could rifle one in to the wrong net from 35 yards (he's always had a good shot on him), even then he'd only just be worse than what Fleck has offered so far.

Most on here writing him off before he's even signed because of his age, yet we had an 83 year old Phil Jagielka playing for us in the premiership last season and our leading scorer in the league this season is the same age.

Definitely not an inspiring signing, but give the bloke a chance. It's not his fault the club is a shambles.

Norwood plays at the base of the midfield and although he has good passing range, he isn't the strongest defensively...although he does win tackles and interceptions etc. Guedioura is much better than Norwood defensively, but he isn't as good at unlocking a defence from deep as Norwood is. Another added bonus for playing Guedioura over Norwood is his ball carrying ability, 2.19 successful dribbles p90 compared to Norwoods 0.22 successful dribbles p90.

I have a little concept in mind as to why Slav is signing Guedioura...

your right he cant be worse than norwood and fleck their both giving us nothing and if we had had adequate cover in this area would have both been out after the first game and this guy wouldnt be coming if vieiera had passed his medical if he can put a foot in and break play up thats better than whats happening in midfield now give the bloke a chance anyway

If it's felt he can improve the team and of course add another much needed body and option in midfield then I'd behind it, regardless that it's likely to be a short term solution.

It's obvious where you're going with this. And Sharp did score, not against him coming on.

However, it was 0-0 when he did at a time in the game where they were on the ropes. Not capitalising on that by bringing on certain younger players allowed Town to ultimately worm their way off those ropes and go on to with the game.

That is the maddest interpretation of our defeat at the weekend I've read yet.

With /billy on the pitch we suddenly had much better movement up top and he had 3 chances, which were really our only chances of the game (mcburnie overhead kick was good skills but came from nowhere).

The goals conceded and chances given to Huddersfield were all from sloppy defending or players not running woth their men.

The obsession on here with youth and the denigration of players due to age is something I'll never understand. Some old players are shit, some young players are shit. How old they are means nothing.

So if we had brought on younger players (not sure who you think would have been better to bring on, or maybe you think it would have been better to leave on the young Brewster), Huddersfield would have not won the game.

It's a game of opinions, but my opinion is that this is a total misread on why we lost the game.

People focusing on his age (and being a midfielder at 35 is very different to being a defender or striker) seem to be missing the fact that after a fairly poor return to Forest he's spend the last couple of years in the mega-competitive league of Qatar.

Not to mention we've just sold a player for £24 million and are signing a 35 year old on a free transfer.

If there was going to be another midfielder coming in, then fine. He's an old head and as long as we're not relying on him then could offer something.

He's definitely one of them for sure. He'll be deployed just in front of back line ready to sweep up any trouble.
