Last week I put my card in the slot it worked fine, yesterday waved my card at the light it worked fine. I would say the issue is cards not being activated correctly rather than the card readers in the turnstiles but then you hear people saying their card will work in different turnstiles after failing in another.

As 80% have had no problems it looks like a deliberate policy to exclude rogue tweeters like Foxy from the ground.
The club don’t want the world to know how dire we are.
Official sanitised media only please. 😁.

Surely those who missed the first half/game should be compensated? Sounds appalling and sums up what a mess things are on and off the pitch.

Not heard from Betis for ages...is he even here anymore?

Also when are we going to appoint a new chairman?

Patience. The next chairman has only just received his A level results.

Ticket collection queue.

How about option for non-season ticket holders to buy a card like a season ticket card and they load the ticket on when you buy it, same as when season ticket holders buy a ticket for a cup game?

Precisely what the membership card should be used for.

As an alternative, for those who don’t want a membership card, the tickets should be loadable into Google Pay/Apple Pay as a contactless pass.

Cost of these has gone up to £40 (Doubled since last Championship season). You get £1 of the ticket price (used to be £2) but still have to pay the £1 booking fee. Benefit is marginal to say the least and still does not help if the card won't scan as mine and my daughters hasn't in the past.

This season decided to just order a ticket and pick up before the game as at least with a printed ticket in your hand at least they will let you in. How wrong could I be. Bar code would not scan and told needed to go back to the ticket office to join the queue with all the others. Missed first thirty minutes as a result.

What gets me is the club do not haver a back up plan. Who is taking responsibility when it becomes clear that hundreds of fans are not going to not get in on time. Why couldn't someone issue instructions to let people in manually if they clearly had a valid ticket that wouldn't scan. No one appears to take responsibility to manage the situation on the day. All you get is people in high viz jackets and shrugging saying nothing they can do.

Fans should demand a refund of the match ticket (or a ticket for another game) This is the minimum the club should do.

Yeah, and QR code.

That accounts for a percentage... Which is why I had to spend the first 5 minutes explaining that I'm perfectly capable of operating a turnstile, had tried two different turnstiles and the correct parts of the readers.

Our issue, as apparently many others had, was that the card wasn't activated for this match.

Got in at half time, piss wet through.

No issues (so far) with turnstiles for renewed STs, though stuff not being ‘activated’ has caused us problems—renewed in May, using the new accounts/platform, but couldn’t buy league cup or away tickets initially, as the renewals weren’t activated in the online ticketing system … which therefore didn’t recognise our eligibility to buy, and would’t display the ‘events’ when either of us logged in.

Loyalty points for this year’s STs weren’t added to our accounts either. Ticket office sorted it all eventually, but …

Yeah, and QR code.
Do you know if the current QR tickets are loadable into mobile wallets. I only mentioned contactless as it seemed like some people struggled to scan the barcode. At least if they’re in mobile wallets then that can deal with making the barcode bigger and setting the screen brightness to full.

My season ticket arrived in the post (we had to move seats due to another earlier cock up, so a new ticket was needed), my son's didn't. I rang the ticket office about this on Wednesday and was assured that they had been sent out in batches and that my lad's would arrive before the match, it didn't.
This resulted in us queuing in the rain for around 40 mins before the match.
In the ticket office there appears to be counters/work stations for 12 staff, only 25% of these were manned (3 staff out of 12)
Considering previous and ongoing ticket issues, having only 3 staff on duty, on match day seems ridiculous.
A friends ticket didn't work meaning him and his child didn't get in until half time.
This isn't good enough and needs addressing.
Why can't a number of supervisor stewards be given a tablet etc which links to the ticket office and can be used to check the status of the ticket and reset if possible or manually allow access.
Expecting people to walk all the way around the ground in the rain, to then queue for 40 minutes, getting soaking wet though isn't really an acceptable or sensible solution.
UTB

They've at least had a go at that previously, as I've seen it in past years. I was vaguely confident we'd benefitted from the Birmingham match issues and that they were going to have a mobile device when the steward closest said 'don't worry, go and see him in the orange jacket, he'll sort you.'

Instead, he asked me if I'd tried using the season ticket?! before telling me to walk round to Cherry Street and queue. Sorted out indeed :)

Problems occur, it's the apparent complete lack of acknowledgement, action and/or basic 'customer service' that sticks in the throat.

Nobody appeared to know or care what the line snaking around the car park (still past the memorial garden approaching half time) was, and most in the office when I was there appeared to be being argued with rather than sorted quickly.

Multiples gave up exasperated when seeing the queue and a few sets ended up going in on 'spares' given to them by latecomers rather than using their own.

Had to try 4 different turnstiles until mine worked. Was fucking fuming I’d be on my way round to the ticket office but seems you only need to hold it near it rather than put it right in like the last card readers. Weird.

That was an old ST, not had a new one for years.

When I eventually got to the ticket office and got my physical ticket, I asked the staff what they would be doing by way of compensation. The answer I got was "You'll have to email the club". I'll be doing this tomorrow. It'll be interesting to know if that's the same advice others were given, and what compensation (if any) we are offered.

Would ring rather than email. I went down the email route when it happened 2 years ago. Despite follow ups never got a response. Gave up in the end but will not be doing this time.

just a thought how long would the cue be if sufc offered refunds on season tickets

Mine's an old ST card. I had problems at the Brum game it wouldnt work in the slot. The steward got me in by pressing it against the side bit. I did the same this time for the Hudders game and it worked fine

Personally, never had a problem, but I never use my Card, always have a ticket......but it doesn't help when you get people trying to get into the wrong stand.

My advice to those people is the clue is in the name of the stand, and Turnstile numbers on the Ticket.

Did you follow up your email with a phone call? That's what I would've done.

I've only ever had one problem with a paper ticket that wouldn't work. And, obvs, as you outline, it was when I was trying to get through the South Stand turnstiles with a Bramall Lane Corner ticket.

UPDATE: I emailed the club and they said that my ticket was identified as 'for collection', not 'load on to card' on their system, hence the card didn't work.
Is this a software bug or admin error?...read into that what you will.

Anyway, they have resolved the issue promptly and to my satisfaction by giving me a complimentary ticket for the Peterborough game.

Gave up on trying to contact on the phone (best position I got was about number 10 in the queue.) Now emailed and got a reply saying they had passed on to the complaints department . Hope it dosen't deal with football issues or I could be in for a long wait:(

Bought tickets for tonights match last Wednesday ,postmans just been ,no fucking tickets ,same with a mate in Sheffield. Its almost like they dont want you to go ,whoevers in charge of the ticket office should have been replaced a long time ago.

Are you sure they've not just loaded on your card or you've got an e-ticket?
