Let me try and explain it another way, it takes Toyota about 35 minutes to create a car body from start to finish, Toyota are as close to 100% in charge of any variables that might effect that process, they have stock, they have machines they have a process and thereby have a baseline to measure against.
Buying professional footballers has no baseline to measure against, one deal could take 6 months, one 6 days because of the amount of variables that exist in each and every deal, also varying, any club can only control a small percentage, the fee they are willing to pay, the wages and length of contract, given that each one of those is open to discussion, all of which can take time.

Some eggs on faces here. Obviously the lad would want to go have his pay tripled and be in the Prem. Not sure how he’s landing it despite being a pretty average goalkeeper, but happy for him and us if we’re getting a decent fee (sounds like we very much are). The money NEEDS reinvesting though. If we’re sat here with Verrips and Foderingham after the window shuts it’ll have been pointless selling. There’s better than Ramsdale even in the Championship.

Everyone can have an opinion on that although he's played so little in a Utd shirt that it's very difficult if not impossible to have an informed one. We therefore have to rely on those professional coaches employed by the club who see him every day. From what we've seen under CW and from the rumours emanating about a replacement should Ramsdale go, you'd have to conclude that they feel Verrips is not good enough

I'm not too worried about Verrips to be honest, he's looked capable and had a fantastic loan spell last year by all accounts....what worries me more is Foderingham on the bench as he is utter dogshite.

Eastwood has got to 24 and made 1 senior appearance so doesn't look as though he will make the grade and I thought Dewhurst had gone back out on loan again but it doesn't appear so but he's obviously no-way near ready either.

Regardless, we can't risk the season on a first choice of Verrips and back up of Foderingham so will either have to bring in a new first choice or better back up to Verrips...

We got him for free mind, and so he’s hardly been a huge failure by the club. That said, it’s concerning if they feel he’s not good enough, because if that’s the case then he may as well be moved on. Keepers get injuries during a season, so even if we get another keeper in it’s a worry that he will be number 2 yet deemed not good enough.

It just seemed the obvious solution, admittedly as far are Arsenal are concerned, keeper off their books and a big upgrade, hopefully we said no chance, and either limited the deal to purely a financial one or with a suitable outfield player
