CONFIRMED Aaron Ramsdale sold to Arsenal

According to BBC rumours United dropped price (35 to 24m) and started talks with Arsenal, and Slav admits Rammers wants to join them.

Centre 3 should be picked from McB, Sharp and Brewster. my worry for Sharp and Brewster is their ariel ability. Sharp is ok but he's hardly towering above people so he's not rising above them to nod them in

The subs/switches against Swansea were telling, Osborne for Burke & Brewster switched to the right,,points to an intention to operate with two wide men, could have brought Freeman on, could have put Brewster through the middle with Mcburnie, looks like he is trying to stick to his proffered plan using the players in roles they come close to fitting, obviously Osborn isn't an out an out winger, but has the energy to get up and down the pitch, filled a gap on the left

The heading thing i agree with 100% and leads me to such frustration because we know that sharp and Brewster aren’t the tallest but if you watch them, they both make quick runs to get ahead of their man, however (disclaimer: this pains me to say as he’s my favourite player) baldock spends to long tippy tappying like he’s in happy feet. Balls need to be whipped in low or early. Low crosses with pace can cause havoc but we insist on either sending high crosses to no one or take ages and at that point their defence is organised to defend the cross. Whip the bastard thing early

Azeez is the DM for their 23’s but he’s not a destroyer like Vieira and he’s incredibly highly rated by them and not for loan this summer as they are apparently eyeing him for a first team role unless they recruit another player in that position so I doubt we’d get him

still think slav might bring a big physical striker in to play the most forward role in the front 3 like he had with mitrovic at fulham and maybe brewster and and a new winger either side although actually think bogle could play that wide striker role

Just part of the Arse media propaganda war to make themselves look like brilliant negotiators despite the fact they keep coming back to table. Comments like that won't move the deal on in fact positions will become entrenched.

Charlie Wyett at the Sun to-day says;

"Yet the Championship side have turned down Arsenals latest offer of £28 million and are demanding over £35 million"

Really hope this is true and we are letting them know if they leak shit to the press it will have consequences. Could go onto transfer deadline day at this rate.

And Ramsdale playing tonight will have absolutely no signal he is leaving or staying, although that won't stop people from jumping to conclusions, he is obviously keeping his standards up in training, not turning up late or missing, the deal might well be done and agreed a minute before the deadline

I think he may struggle to get a new central striker signed off, agree on Bogle said on another thread, we do need depth in those roles though. They’re integral and if one goes down we are fucked
 
Some eggs on faces here. Obviously the lad would want to go have his pay tripled and be in the Prem. Not sure how he’s landing it despite being a pretty average goalkeeper, but happy for him and us if we’re getting a decent fee (sounds like we very much are). The money NEEDS reinvesting though. If we’re sat here with Verrips and Foderingham after the window shuts it’ll have been pointless selling. There’s better than Ramsdale even in the Championship.
 
The one situation we didn't want to be in was pissing about up to deadline not knowing who was going, who needs replacing and how much we have to spend doing it. Needs sorting by the weekend for me one way or the other. Far more worried now than I was start of pre-season. From the outside this has been a shambles of a pre-season
 
Think we can accept this one as done and move on. No time to dwell here. Still need 4/5/6 in

At least it’s only a keeper. It’s much harder to replace outfield players late on as you need someone who fits the system and brings what we’ve lost back in.

Keepers just need to keep the ball out the net.

If it means we get a creative midfield player, I’d happily sell him. Ramsdale isn’t that good.
 
Well that arsenal in know was right about odegard and he confirmed a fee had been agreed for rammer so will be surprised if he starts. This could be what nixon is on about
 
People mentioned on shout box yesterday that Ramsdale would be needed in order for Arsenal to sign Odegaard, not sure why but if that’s the case. Odegaard having a medical can’t be good news.
