i think if they offered us 25m and maybe a 20% sell on clause in the deal we will sell and im sure rammy would go probably treble his salary as well he would be mad to turn it down plus it might just enable us to get a good creative midfielder in and a wide attacker both of which i think were desperatly in need of

If he does well at Arsenal I doubt they would sell him. So that 20% sell on isn't worth much and if he flops we will barely get anything at all.

If we were selling him to a Burnley then a sell on clause has more value.

I don’t think the sell on clause is too valuable in this situation.

If arsenal sell him for a profit it would have to be as a first choice keeper at Man U, City or Chelsea. For that to happen he would have to become one of the best goal keepers in the world.

If he flops he will be sold at a loss/released so no sell on fee there.

I’d happily not have a sell on clause and have a slightly higher fee

Snap! :D

ok then i will hazzard a guess that if arsenal offered us 25m i very much doubt we would reject it especially if by selling him slav could get 2 possibly 3 more new players over the line he will have a big say in any transfers imo

Maybe, going off what Slav has said publicly, he wants the player not the money. He may well just be playing the game as a negotiation tactic, who knows.

I don't believe him being happy here came into it at any time in any of the posts - the comment "go and support Arsenal then" was petty -the issue is that if a club like Arsenal ( even a poor Arsenal) come calling a player will prick his ears up, no matter how happy he is . Supporting your club is about also about being a realist and looking at football as a business and then a sport ( sadly) and then entertainment. As a Blade I hate to say this but Arsenal are a bigger draw than us and If I was a player who played for the Club I love and Man City or Spurs wanted me would I say no?...........would I *uck.

You obviously know Nothing of Ramsdale,or his"camp"
There is no transfer request, there has been no interviews, as of last night in Swansea where his family watched him play as with every game his family go he was in good fettle and happy.
As for being a blade maybe if you could be bothered you may find out the back story of Ramsdales journey to Sheffield and his return to the city.
Dont think facts are a strong point.
Take no notice of em

I find their pursuit of him so confusing. It's almost like Wilders tactic of he only wants one player. They could get a better keeper for £25-30m.

If we removed our blades blinkers and we were bidding this type of price for Ramsdale with no other options wed be concerned.

They could sign Uğurcan Çakır.

Is there a reason that you won't answer a simple question? It's only based on what you have posted.
Last ask; is Rammers behind the leaks to the press, or do you think it's more likely to be Arsenal?

You're doing an excellent impersonation of a barrister.
The irony in you not even acknowledging my question whilst simultaneously accusing me of dodging yours...

I think both sides will have leaked / planted the story. Ramsdale's agent will have asked Aaron how he feels. Once he has advised he'd rather move to Arsenal than stay here, the rest is in his hands. Do I think his agent then called a couple of Journalists to plant the story? Yes. Do I think Arsenal's people will have done the same thing? Yes.

I'm not sure what you think you're catching me out on? I don't believe Ramsdale is calling up the editor at The Sun personally & saying, "please could you put a story out that I want out of this shithole. I'm miserable." I doubt he's unhappy at Sheff Utd, but his heads probably been turned by one of the biggest clubs in the country. A higher level of football. A higher pay packet. London. With some of his England team mates.

There’s not many English keepers of the required level even less who are of the required quality with the ball at their feet. By committing themselves to having a home grown keeper they’ve really backed themselves into a corner where it’s ramsdale or woodman and I don’t think woodman is any cheaper

....but would he want to go to Arsenal if he wasn’t first choice ?

Id say yes as he is probably going as a back up but he has a good chance of becoming no1 IMO

Other wise why would arsenal be spending £20 mill + on a back up keeper when they can get plenty for far less

If homegrown is the direction they want to go in then yes. But with homegrown you're paying 25% more. They could get a half decent foreign keeper for £10-15m as they've always done. Martinez, Leno etc etc.

They don't need to go home grown they have a squad full of them.

Yeah it’s completely counter intuitive I’ve no idea why they’ve put that constraint on themselves but they have done.

Think the majority of calls to the Samaritans have come from Arsenal fans, what a weekend, not just lost a close game to Brentford, but got bullied, and well beaten. Chelsea put 3 past Palace without breaking sweat, while 97 Million Lukaku is isolating, Spurs beat City and still have sold Kane, but if they do sell, are in line for circa 100 million, meanwhile Arsenal are supposedly chasing a keeper from a Championship club, that's been relegated twice, have an injury prone first choice RB that wants out (Bellerin), two strikers that are sick/injured, forced to play Callum Chambers, and a shaky defence, what a time to be a Gooner

There's no irony. If you simply won't answer my query I will not entertain an attempt to derail the discussion by answering a totally irrelevant question to be the matter we're discussing.
Now you've at least addressed the question, even if you've sat on the fence and softened your original position, Thank you.
I believe you are wrong and it's entirely from the Arsenal side, and I don't think he's trying to weaken our hand or force the deal through. If Arsenal meet our terms he'll happily talk to them, but he won't cause a fuss to get the move and if need be will happily stay.

They’re in a lot of trouble and are a long way from building back up. Currently I’d only say they have saka who looks like a building block type play for a top 4 side. Maybe white and martinelli if they pan out. Others than that they’re recruitment has been appalling

Tierney, Saka and Smith-Rowe, possibly Nketiah, all very good players, but they are in danger of becoming a run of the mill top ten club rather than top four, challenging, competing with Everton/Leeds/Villa and not City or Liverpool. A massive change in fortune since Wenger and the invincibles

Imo nketiah isn’t going to be anything more than a championship level striker I don’t rate him

Highlights Arsenal's current problem, as stupid as this sounds there is a danger of 3 mini leagues forming in the PL, the Elite, the mid tablers, and those in a constant battle for survival, with Arsenal safe in mid table.
Players good enough for Arsenal but not good enough for 100 million bids from the Elite, while competing and failing with the Elite clubs throughout Europe to buy players and hire a manager

He’s not big, not the fastest or strongest, and he’s not that tricky. As he gets older, I’m not sure what he can do to stay at a big side, other than be an extraordinary poacher.

Been like that for a while if I’m honest. It’s relatively easy to move between the strugglers and the always comfortable. By which I mean it can be done through traditional means good management, recruitment and player improvement. To break into the top you need to be able to spend very big. Only Leicester buck the trend.

I don’t even rate him as a poacher I think he’s a pretty mediocre finisher I’d have Brewster ahead of him. I think his ceiling is to be a busy high energy pressing striker like Shane long.

arsenal are only a top 10 club these days theyve no chance of finishing top 6 and whether they go for rammy or not they need a far better keeper than leno in the premier league think arteta will be out of a job by october
