Sky Sports keep bangin on about our PLETHORA of striking talent as if it's an asset.
Let me disabuse them with a brief audit :
SHARP nailed on to score but gettin on a bit so hard to get into position
DIDSY nailed on to miss , the polar opposite of Keith Edwards 1-0 , frustrates the fuck out of me
BURKE can't control a football so no chance of directing it on target
MCKNOB too busy fighting with the defender , falling to the floor & arguing with the ref
BREWSTER a poor kid lost in a football match , he played at full-back at Swansea
MOUSSET in the treatment room or the kebab shop or his ridiculous car
JEBBO fast , determined & potentially lethal but the club find it too financially embarrassing to pick him ahead of Brewster's Millions so trying to loan out our only chance of goals.
I guarantee Boris the Blade is not sleeping well , tossing & turning through the night wondering when a goal might arrive , after 2 league games without any hint that this PLETHORA of STRIKERS is capable of scoring one.

Brilliant description of why we will always need the ignore poster option...

Word on the street is that Sky have bought into what we at the Blades Dark Arts are putting out there in the way of propaganda. Our agenda which must not be made public is to big us up and strike fear into the hearts of the enemy.

Now that the whole Championship believes we have a deadly strike force our next missions are to convince everyone that Ramsdale is England's number one and is in fact 8 feet tall followed by fuelling the already established belief that Berge is a Champions League player waiting to be unleashed - oh and that he's 10 feet tall.

Please keep this to yourselves......

Plethora just doesn’t sit right to me as a football word.

Next time we’re on Sky at West Brom I want to hear Prutton talking about a ‘Shitload of strikers who can’t hit a cow’s arse with a banjo’
But , but , don't you know that it's sacrilege to speak the truth to power in any form of modern media ?

If only I could like this twice 😃 Glad to see you have bought into the gentle humour of my OP - others on here just can't manage a philosophical smile at our predicament + take everything far too seriously.
They need another 50 years , like mine , of following dem Blades , so they can finally realise what it's all about
Or do they want to be Everton ?
Never relegated but huge + boring as fuck.
Mind you , under Rafa ...

Everton have twice been relegated from the top division ; the last time in 1950/51.

On the bright side, maybe we have found a use for Brewster as a back up left wing back

Who's gonna get our first league goal ? Will it be at the Hawthorns ? Will it get us a point ? Or 3 ? Will we get an auto spot ? Or playoffs ? Or double-relegated ? Will be beat the teams managed by our ex-managers ? Anything's possible with dem Blades. Who owns us ? Have they got any money ? Will our next Chairman be a man or a woman or a man who wants to be a woman and then a man again ? Or will he just do a bunk + be wanted by international crime agencies ? Will there ever be a decent view from the Pukka Pie Corner ? Will we remove the Kop posts ? Or get a new training ground ?
And on and on , for my entire life !

You a toffee mate ?

Plethora is a good word, but so is MOIST, a word I like more.

Blades are no strangers to misfortune and many of us have seen some really dark times. After our recent epic fail we need time to regroup and this could be another tough time.

I much prefer to see the funny side at these times rather than plunge headlong into doom & gloom.

Agree about Everton. I work with an Evertonian and have told him I wouldn't ever swap his magnolia dream for our soap opera dramas.

Nope. Just happened to know that. Doesn`t happen too often.

Burke is a headless chicken.. If we'd swapped Robinson for a bag of magic beans instead, then at least we'd have a nice big tree to look at in the middle of the pitch..

Moose, I think he only remembers where the ground is because it looks like a big KFC..

Sharp, Mcgoldrick and Mcburnie will always bring something to the table, but Sharp is a fox in the box striker who has to run back and get the ball for himself if he's to get a chance, Mcgoldrick has either the finish of Bergkamp or Frank Spencer it's heads or tails which one we see..

McBurnie frustrates me the most, he's got a great shot on him, can score from outside the box and can head well, where are we going wrong that we can't get this lad a chance or two on goal??

Somebody suggested brewster & mcburnie, I'd like brewster & jebbeson up front, or Mcburnie, jebbs...... Hang on..

The more I type here the more I realise...

WE DO HAVE A PLETHORA OF STRIKERS..

I broke off from my stream of consciousness to reply to Everton's relegation correction - I didn't even get to the travesties of justice which would tax the heroes of any 'Marvel' comic , Superman & Batman etc , which involve Everton (John Ebbrell & relegation 1994) , Wet Sham (yawn you may , but it WAS wrong , as proved by the £25m settlement , which of course we wasted).
What I'm really saying is that instead of trying to kid myself (like Sky commentators seem to do) that our strikers are any good , I would rather acknowledge the truth + give a wry smile - it's all just part of life as a Blade since I sat as a kid in the new Bramall Lane stand in 1967 + then shifted to the back of the Kop as a teenager.
I've come to realise that trying to reject the evidence of my own eyes is too stressful.
Better to hold an honest view , even if it's to the effect that we're "under the weather" at the moment.
Especially where it matters - creating + scoring goals - which is , as far as I recall , at least to some extent , a striker's job when he's faced with a patently good chance or a decision to lamely shoot from a no-hope situation instead of taking a touch + creating something more dangerous.
The ability to decide in a split second what to do , with or without the ball , in the final third , is why good strikers are paid eye-watering wages.

BUT NO LEAGUE GOALS

Moist a word you like. But for some strange reason , the ladies don't. Did a survey with the ladies at work and got some strange responses from them on the word" Moist" .

I suppose it would depend on its context?, for example, it's a nicer word than Damp or Sodden....

None of this lot will get double figures this season.

No need for the mcnob comment, makes you look like a teenager....Who knows perhaps you are .
