My style is taking risk and looking to score goals," he added.

"I get the impression that this team took the decision to be happy with one point. This is the lack of energy that I feel they have because they say they don't need this type of result.

Well summed up slav

This is how I feel.watching my team at the moment

In my life I take a lot of risks and sometimes the punishment is expensive but most times there are benefits to playing this type of game.

"To be successful in this competition you need to win the games. We need to be ready physically and psychologically

A team that’s been told that they’re not good enough for the last two years will obviously find it hard to adapt to such a way of playing. Massive change in mindset needed from the players.
Completely agree, forget 3 or 4 at the back, the system isn't important, they still look, act and play like last season, short on passion, confidence and a will to fight/win

So...the cull begins.

I’m happy that he’s already disassociated himself with “this team.” This group of “journeymen” players are probably at the end of their journey with this club. Because Slav didn’t sign these players, it’ll make it much easier to carry out the necessary cull, without the emotional attachment.

Easy with hindsight to shout relegation hangover, and players being happy with not losing, it's incredibly hard to turn that around, confidence looks shot

I don’t know if we are thinking the same thing here and I’m conscious about falling into the trap of taking sides with regards Wilder

But one thing he used to do that would to drive me nuts was when he wanted fresh faces he would publicly say in interviews that the current group were punching above their weight and weren’t good enough and that they were League One/Championship players playing in the championship/premier league (delete as appropriate)

And whilst it was true I could never understand why this was seen as a beneficial things to say

And then bought no one in to challenge the first team, or just no one.

I can see a lot being gone next year.

I've never for one second thought that the team look like they are happy to settle for a point (going on the last 18 months, not just Slav's time), so I don't agree with the first part of that statement. They just look incapable of scoring, which the majority of the time means you don't even get a point!

Wilder was never the type of manager to do that either, so I don't believe that's the issue. I believe the team want to win, but are incapable of creating enough chances/scoring enough goals to do so.

Basham’s interview, while honest and open as you’d expect, was worrying in that he’s admitting he can’t really play in the system Slav wants him to play. It’s a real shame as he’s a true club legend in my eyes.

Basham might fair better in midfield in Slav's formation.

Surely the constant aversion to passing forwards and taking 3 passes when 1 will do is what he is on about? I saw plenty of that.

So many times we needed to get it across the pitch to start a move and it went from Egan to Norwood to Berge and then to Brewster, or an attacking one two is on around a defender and the two ends up being pass back to the centre circle.

It just shows that we have effectively wasted a whole season to do something about the inadequacies of the squad. I am convinced that something went badly wrong when we retiurned after lockdown 1. Wilder's total rant after the Leicester no show? In reality and hindsight, it would have been better had the Price accepted Wilder's first offer of resignation and the new manager could then have either got the player's back to something like they were or we would have had far more time to overall the squad. Instead the club haas trodden water for some months and the team has dropped off a cliff performance wise. Having watched the Prem matches this weekend we would have been battered by nearly every team I have seen if we had managed to stay up. Poor teams when we got promoted, such as Villa and West Ham, have kicked on and are reaping the rewards. Even now we seem unable or unwilling to buy anyine when it is patently obvious we are in dire need of a big refresh. We are struggling to get two players, one we have been after since January. Is Davies related to Dan Burns by any chance? I hope Slav spends his money wisely when we sell Ramsdale and Berge. Another masterclass in Blades shooting themselves in the foot.

Yeah but there's a difference between being happy with a point, and only deserving a point.
