He’s a realist SB - who wouldn’t move from an average club with history to a top level above average club with a lot more successful history and double the fan base and the infrastructure to play club football at the highest level
Any professional would no matter how much they may love the club they are playing for now

The People reporting another rumour that Rammers is considering handing in a transfer request

Says he's desperate for the two clubs to reach an agreement

Arsenal hoping to sign Aaron Ramsdale this week

Arsenal are hoping to complete the signing of Sheffield United goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale, this week, despite reports of a deal being off last week.

The Gunners thought they had got their man in midweek, only for a deal to collapse as United once again held out for more money. The Blades are thought to be wanting around £30-35m for Ramsdale. Arsenal, meanwhile, only want to pay around £20m up front, with the rest in add-ons.

Despite all that, the Daily Mail have reported today that Arsenal are still keen to sign Ramsdale. They claim that the Gunners want both Ramsdale and Martin Odegaard signed in the coming days.

It comes after the club sanctioned the £25m sale of Joe Willock to Arsenal, freeing up funds. And after their nightmare start against Brentford, it’s easy to see why they want new players.

Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is considering handing a transfer request to seal a move to Arsenal this summer.

Handing in a transfer request doesn’t seal a move, the club can say no. However it would mean he forfeits a share of the fee and also tells the supporters where his thoughts and loyalties are. At the end of the day if he wants to leave then he’s not indispensable. Any fee in excess of 20 million would be acceptable for a goalie who’s still to prove himself long term.

So according to the Daily Fail they’ve sold Willock to themselves to free up some dosh. Must have been taking tips off owd Chancer.

We love Sheffield United for personal reasons, usually it's handed down by our parents and we're from the area.

For Ramsdale, this is his career. He's not a Blade, he's got no reason to be particularly loyal to us
A lot of you giving it the big'n saying "why don't you go support Arsenal then..." etc.
Why don't you offer a decent argument rather than that nonsense?

It's incredibly obvious why the lad would want to go to Arsenal & I'd be very surprised if all of these stories about transfer requests and how gutted he is aren't being leaked by his camp.

He’s off. Looked tearful as he came over at the end. Gave his shirt away and then blew a kiss to the crowd.

Thanks and goodbye.

people have said that every game to be fair…

I’m at the stage now where I think we either sell him or berge and liven up the squad or we arnt going to be challenging at the top. We just can’t score

The squad is irreparably broken in an attacking sense, and it looks like the signings have been made by drawing names out of a tombola for the last 2 years.

sell someone and give Slav some of the proceeds to make his mark on the squad.

On Fridays performance, Arsenal have to spend a fortune, Ramsdale, Odegaard, Berge? 80/90 Million, still have a shaky defence, and 2 strikers that won't play every game this season, they are light years behind Chelsea, City, Liverpool, Leicester and ManU

Can't help but think that playing hard ball was not the correct choice. I feel like selling Ramsdale for 20m, buying Dieng for 6m and spending the other 14m on a midfielder would have been shrewd business

Dieng for £6m is a pipe dream.

disagree - though dependant on if we can actually replace him. At the rate we are going it’ll be jan 2023 before we bring someone in.

But it’s always right to get as much as you can. An extra 5m say would be a solid % of our wage bill as well as a potential impactful signing at this level.

we need to accept now that we arnt spending the full sales value on signings. Slav might get a fraction of it but the rest will be for wages other expenses and keeping us afloat.

well looking like hes off then maybe 20m plus 5m in add ons good luck to him but if by selling him it enables us to bring the 4 or 5 which we obviously need so be it
Based on what? A newspaper journalist claiming he's "considering handing in a transfer request"? Has Ramsdale exclusively told that paper what his intentions are? And how come everytime this rumour resurfaces the fee is either less or the exact same? 😃 We've told arsenal his price, they've not met it.

Ancient, Doesnt need me to defend him, but he might be basing his comments on the previous post re tears in his eyes and giving his shirt away

If Ramsdale has anything about him he’ll be looking to move to Arsenal. A bigger club, much higher wages, a chance to play in Europe, and the opportunity to remain in consideration for an England place. He will be looking at what his pal Hendo did at Man Utd and aiming to do the same.

That doesn’t mean he was “gutted” when we turned down the latest offer, that he’s agitating for a move, or that he’ll hand in a transfer request. He seems like a great kid and he’s handled himself very well during this whole saga.

Who is he please? who's he play for, I think Ramsdale will leave he owes us nothing and don't forget he's had a taste of England set up. The main problem at Arsenal is the manager he is way out of his depth, he's struggled since he left Captain Scarlett (Capt Black).

It's a bit of a double edged sword, I think the big difference re Rammers and Henderson is confidence, with Henderson its overflowing, bordering on arrogance, Rammers looks and behaves like a good lad ( similar to most in the squad, no side to them etc ) that's happy to be playing, good in one respect bad in another, and if he did have Hendersons belief chances are he would have pushed for a move

I think they probably are different personalities, yeah. But I do think Ramsdale will want to seize this chance to advance his career. I'm sure the club said to him when Arsenal first made an approach that we wouldn't stand in his way as long as they met our valuation and he seems happy to accept that.

I think Arsenal will come back with a better offer this week and we'll accept.

Arsenal coming back wouldn't surprise me at all, neither would a deal being agreed, I think the one thing that's probably stopped Arsenal from agreeing to our valuation, the realisation, even for them its a lot of money, given they also want Odegaard, possibly Berge, just spent 50 million on White, still have Chambers as starting player, and 2 attackers on big money, that no one wants and aren't fit for a full season

The Top Six media machine is in full flow since the mighty Arse were told to do one by those Northern monkeys in dark and dirty, whippet loving Sheffield.

Arse having spent over 12 months looking at a young lad whose ambition it is to move to metropolitan that there London and the bright lights are dumfounded that this little insignificant football club could stop young Ramsdale achieving his dream. The mighty Arse are prepared to pay £20 million which is way beyond what little Northern clubs should be paid. Only if you live down sarf and in Brighton do you get paid fortunes beyond your wildest dreams for players called White.

So what next for the mighty Arse. The worldwide masses of gooners especially those in outer mongolia are outraged that generous Arse were prepared to pay more than £10 million for a novice who has two years EPL experience and been in the England Euro 2020 squad.

Lets leak to one of our Southern based friends in the media that young gooner Rammers is gutted. We know he must be even though he hasn't told us. Who wouldn't want to take splinters out of their Arse, pardon the pun, for 12 months earning a vast fortune. To appease our masses we'll add that he only wants to come to us and he turned down a number of other EPL Clubs. Well Football London did say Burnley and Watford were interested two months ago. He only wants to come to a top six club. Yes the mighty Arse are top 6 even though we're not in Europe and finished 9th last year.

The strategy seems to be working the media has picked up on gooner Toms article. The mood of our masses has changed it wasn't they didn't like him it was just they were angry those little people up in Sheffield were trying to rob the mighty Arse. He's not a bad lad he should be given his chance to play for the Club he supported as a boy. He doesn't want to play for anyone else. Even the SUFC fans have bought into it and believe he's desperate to come. Tell that difficult chap in Jordan will give them £10 million on 31 August provided they issue a public apology for wasting the mighty Arse's time.
Arse media machine just gone to Defcon level 2. If all else fails unsettle player by leaking false stories to the press that he's going to hand a transfer request in. Pay £30 million and you can have him.

Doubt there will be much in the way of add ons looking at the current Arsenal set up.
Presume Willock is injured or not signed in time (not in the Newcastle squad today) the game against Brentford was ideal for him, 3 strikers out, Tierney, Smith-Rowe and Saka are quality but the rest, how many would be automatic starters for any top half PL side, Xhaka seems an odd character, way better at International level than PL
