plus Slavs played with 3 creative players before. Still leaves us 2 shirt even if freeman isn’t a busted flush

Based on the two games so far, teams are putting a lot of effort into closing us down in midfield and preventing Berge from turning/getting forward, knowing that we have strikers, but little creativity further forward.

I really don't understand the way he's setting us up. We're going to get panned if a team with confidence goes at us down the middle. There's nothing there. Swansea were poor. Nothing joined up. I can't understand playing Berge and ball-winner in midfield but 2 withdrawn playmakers who want to play an easy ball sideways? Why? Why we're not playing wingback is beyond me.

In fairness this one might actually do something defensive. Like win a fucking tackle in midfield which I don't think we've done since Villa at home last year

All midfielders should be creative, it's part of the job, some are more creative than others, but some creativity should be present in all midfielders, even though we can always manage to find four or five that have zero creativity. New management, same shit.

Even Kante the ultimate midfield destroyer has some creative talents as well.

That's just it though. A good manager plays a style and system to get the best out of what he's got. So far he's doing the precise opposite. You can't impose a style and system on players that will never be capable of it. Management 101. If he's looked at and thought "how do I build a team around Burke's strengths" he's asking the wrong question.
