Which will be what Arsenal are agreeing to.
Well yes obviously if a deal has been agreed. I don’t even really know the point you’re making here. I was saying that I’m not going to get excited about “doubling our money”.

I just provided you with multiple sources. I'm not on trial here, have a Google & a little search around YouTube for yourself.

I remember hearing the statement re: him being our record signing very clearly.
I also remember reading his quote regarding Martinez being available at the same money and being surprised by the unprofessionalism of the Prince singling out Ramsdale.

*Also, it's a bit rich to state I have nothing to back up my story when I tried my best to provide direct quotes and sources. The best you offered was "confirmed from the Bournemouth end." Who exactly?
You've not provided a single source.

I've linked it in the past but as you didn't read it didn't remember it, here it is again:

“After the [financial] year end [on 30th June 2020}, the club [Bournemouth] sold three players for a profit of £50.8 million"

Those three are Aké (£21m profit), Wilson (£17m profit) and Ramsdale (process of elimination £12.8m profit). We sold Ramsdale to Bournemouth for £800k so we paid £13.6m. Add back the 25% sell on (£12.8m * 25/75 = £4.3m and you get to the £17m figure referred to by albinonick on the other thread, add on performance clauses and you get to £18.5m.

None of the reported figures anywhere have ever been above £18.5m.

That’s that then if he moves then I can see there being space for freeman. Hopefully we get the deal for dieng done before Norwich get chair otherwise the need to seek for QPR diminishes
something in that interview last week with freeman that tells me hes going maybe get dieng for 4m plus freeman

The point I'm making really is that fan valuations and actual valuations are miles apart. The player is worth what the buying & selling club agree. It's boring, but if we keep talking up players prices we'll just be perpetually disappointed.

If he goes he's going to be worth £70m.

I hope it's bollocks, but £25m is probably fair enough compared to other GK deals. If he hadn't got splinters for England there'd be no questions over that valuation imo.

Don’t think you understand how transfer negotiations work.

Ramsdale is currently work about 15 million maybe less, the longer he spends in the Championship the more his value will fall.

He’s good but not that good. Arsenal are willing to gamble because he’s still young in the England setup and his value is likely to increase.

Let’s say a fair price is 25 million. It’s not like going to a pawn shop. Arsenal are the only interested party and know we are desperate,

Even our own fans keep saying we must sign some players otherwise we’ve no chance.

So Arsenal have dragged it out hoping we break. In the end we’ve taken a lower offer they know we are desperate to raise funds.

To be honest the delays are based on negotiating the add-ons. Think it’s safe to say the incomings will fall into place now.

Ahhh yes
What you're really saying is he played for us therefore must be a scrubber

But playing for Arsenal it will be an accepted fact that he is worth millions more

I just wonder how it is justified the other way around when we want to buy somebody

I suppose there has to be a premium for another player to come here and be a scrubber for a while until we manage to sell them on for practically nothing

And here's me looking on at other clubs making a fortune out of player sales

Must be imagining it

I don’t think I’m being particularly unrealistic to think he’s worth more than £20 million. He’s an England international, only 23 years old, an important part of our squad, etc. etc. We should be looking at £25m at least. The side point that I was trying to make is that it doesn’t necessarily take two clubs to agree what a player is worth. That’s market value. Two different things.

If we sell Berge as well then am done wi football.
Don't be so negative , Berge does not affect the outcome of our games , despite his manifest quality - both he & we would benefit from him moving on - we'd get the cash to replace Norwood & Fleck as starters with some to younger legs & forward motion.
This is assuming the Ramsdale sale gets us the cash to buy a decent physically dominant CB to replace JoC

didnt bournemouth still owe us 4m from the brooks deal ? as well

i think its the same with mcburnie he just doesnt seem to fit us mind never rated him and very much doubt hes slavs type of striker
Mcburnie fits us in terms of character and seems to fit in well with the group and obviously being a northern lad the area isn’t an issue for him just don’t think we’ve ever found a role to truly suit him. Can’t see mcburnie leaving this year though

Possibly but that's a cashflow issue more than anything: they wouldn't have made the final payment for Brooks and we'd have paid less (or nothing) as a first payment for Ramsdale

If we sell berge we'd get the funds to replace norwood and fleck...

What about replacing berge?

good business would be selling Rammers and keeping Berge, I feel Rammers is close to the top of his value whereas Berge is close to the bottom.

Ironically though, i think Rammers is more valuable to us on the pitch

Selling both would be awful business

It's not my money. I'm sure the club have negotiated what they think is acceptable value. It'll likely free up some room to begin to create a team that scores goals.

Also, GLTTL. Seems like a genuinely nice kid. And he showed excellent mental strength to come back from the start of last season. I don't think anyone imagined he'd be off to a club like Arsenal for a profit in November last year!!

We wouldn't need to because we wouldn't play anyone in his position surely? Completely new system if Slav gets his signings.

Berge is quality, I love watching him power through teams and I'll be gutted if he goes, but it's a bit like having Usain Bolt in a primary school relay team with him in our midfield, he's so obviously better than everyone else that he's never really fit as he doesn't have the players around him to get the best of him.

Ideally, we build around Berge though, but who knows, we got relegated so it's our own fault that we have these questions isn't it.

If losing him unblocks this ridiculously constipated transfer window for us, then so be it. Plenty of solid (and cheaper) keeper options out there.

I do hope we keep Berge though.

that exactly how I see it.

I’d love to keep him, but think that we can adequately replace him for say 1/3 of the fee and spend the rest to improve a squad that really needs reinforcements in a number of areas.

How about use the funds from ramsdale to replace them instead 😁

Poor fee if it is 20m.

That said the time is ripe for selling.

Premier League season POTY just behind him and a stint at the Euros.

When the next squad is announced, Henderson and Pope will push out Rammers and Johnstone and he'll be a Championship keeper getting limited TV exposure.

This might be the peak of his value.

70-75m for Berge and Ramsdale would have been excellent.

60-65m would be acceptable.

50-55m would be disappointing but would represent profit on both when both had mixed seasons. Also depends if it is 20m plus attainable extras.

Depends what happens with the money. If we spend on others, then are we still filling a 40m hole?

Although it pains me to say, If losing Ramsdale means we sign Dieng, Vieira, Davies and a wide player or two I would have to accept him leaving prematurely. ⚔️
I've never seen dieng play, genuinely is he better than verrips? Granted verrips has only played 1 game for us but was very good in Belgium and last season in the Netherlands.
