i posted this on a pre-season thread the other day.

didn't find any mention of this on here and nowt on the official site(?) but it was all over the finnish press a while back that united will be having a 3-match tour of finland in july. no mention if this is the first team or just some united XI...

in short the 3 fixtures are:

july 15th v. ilves (tampere)
july 19th v. sjk (seinajoki)
july 20th v. jaro (pietarsaari)

the first match is for ilves tampere's 80th anniversary celebrations so it would be a bit out of order for the blades to send over anything but the first team in my mind."

Whilst the fixtures haven't been finalised, I don't think this is now happening.

Final pieces are being put in place over the weekend with the Club hopeful of an announcement on Monday (6 June).

sufc.co.uk can, however, confirm that the pre-season schedule will begin on Saturday 9 July with a fixture against the world's oldest football club, Sheffield FC. The fixture will be played at Dronfield's BT Local Business Stadium with a 3pm kick-off.

I look forward to Henderson actually managing to make it through pre season this year and, as a consequence, having the storming season that many predict

It's all gone quiet about that as that's quite old news now, but I think they are moving to a new ground just out of town, Blades can always come play at my local village green in Aldborough though, it's a dual use cricket/footy pitch like the lane used to be, home from home!
