He might do. Ben White has been sold for £50m and we are holding out on £35m plus for Ramsdale. Think clubs are making it hard to buy and whacking prices up, to try and keep squads stable, post-Covid.

The most reassuring thing is that SJ has assessed the squad and identified the gaps we were almost all aware of as priorities - something the previous regime were unable to do.

If creativity and an increased scoring threat from midfield can be added before the end of the window (which Elliot would provide), Utd should be well set-up for a decent crack at it.

Also another CB. Egan breaks his leg and we're in a mess. Not convinced the young CBs are good enough to cover. They've basically been playing in a L1 Academy league.

I agree, I'm not sure we’ll see that happen though. Maybe we can take a risk in midfield with a Brunt to create.

Defensively though Bash can cover Egan & Robinson would cover Davies. I think they'll be happy with that.

You are joking right? We couldn't create enough chances last season and the difference this season so far is that Berge is fit. If he's injured or leaves then surely it's the same problem as last season? Vieira is a ball-winner and a defensive midfielder. One with a history of injuries to boot.

Jags was cover for Egan last year. Jags is gone.

So our senior CBs are currently: Egan, Robinson, Bash. If we bring in Davies then we have 4.

That's it. Assuming we're playing a 3 and you're relying on Stevens or Baldock to cover. They've shown nothing to demonstrate they can do this well.

Wanting a good squad for a team which has declared they're going for promotion is surely a necessity?

Especially with COVID around.

I expect us to use 4-5 loans over the season. If we don't then that's fairly criminal.

For me...just

Dont think we need anyone up top, midfield I would run for the first few games and see how we look, if not creative enough dip in for a loan late in the window or do business in January, the below doesn't look too bad though

Sheffield United manager Slavisa Jokanovic has confirmed to Sky Sports that he is interested in signing Ben Davies from Liverpool and Sampdoria midfielder Ronaldo Vieira.
Jokanovic has also said he would be surprised if Sander Berge and Aaron Ramsdale are not in the squad for the Blades' opening Championship game against Birmingham.
Jokanovic hopes they will stay at the club as "they’re important players", but admits their exit is a possibility.
