Monty will not be at BDTBL next season, apparently 2 offers on table, 1 from a "local" side, I reckon Leeds. Wouldn't be drawn when asked if one of the offers was from QPR. From about as reliable a source as you can get ;)

As long as we get a decent fee for him then it's about as much as we can hope for.
He's on a long enough contract for the fee to be a reasonable amount I would expect.
So what's reasonable for Monts?

In today's climate and considering where we are in the pyramid then I guess we should get something between £600k and £1.5m. Wheras maybe we could have got £1.5 to just over £2m if we were still in the Champ.

Two pounds twenty, a bag of out of date pickled onion flavoured space raiders, and an option to take up a two week time share on the costa del Ken Bates.

Good luck to him he has been a good servant to the club and we'll miss him when he is gone as we'll notice how much work he did.

Anything over £400,000 would be good business, if QPR are involved bearing in mind their new found status you can double it. He's great when he has a definite job to do (man marking) but his departure would help in the transition to becoming a passing side.

Thanks for the memories Monty and good luck. He'll always get a decent reception at BDTBL.

Is there life after monty?
surely our skill average will decrease dramatically now :(
on a serious note, good luck to the lad wherever he goes, a very loyal servant to the club and deserves one more "day in the sun", i hope it is QPR and monty gets another crack at PL.

I would go along with what most are saying on here, you'll get 500k tops for him. Probably not even that. If we were in the championship we would probably get a little more for him but league one puts us in the bargain bin!

I think Monty has been a good servant to the club and has put a lot of graft in. I wish him all the best. I hope he gets a move to a decent team.

Shame as he is one of the few that I would like to see stay. He has been an excellent asset to the Blades and we will miss his experience next season. Good luck to the lad he is far too good for the 3rd division and has taken a lot of unwarranted flack from some of us on here. Should get 750k-1M easily.

When Warnock said that Monty, Tonge and Jags were the heartbeat of SUFC, he wasn't wrong. That heart may be beating its last. :(

Just hope the new kids are here long enough to start over...

PS - I love the term 'defo' being used in the rumour section. It's definite! FACT! :)

He will be sold for 100k tops or as they say undisclosed.

I think the £500k is a much more realistic figure than the the £1.5m mentioned above.

A more reasonable figure too. If we got much more we'd have had somebody's trousers down.

Tried his best which ultimately wasn't good enough. Hopefully him going means we have a better shot of keeping Quinny.

That life-support machine was switched off a long time ago. Anyway, it's time to move on!

= If Monty goes at any point over the summer I will claim it was because I knew someone ITK. Silly season starts.

As I said the source was as reliable as you can get, lets call them Mick Nontgomery. I'm not someone ITK it was a chance meeting the words came from them not me.

Seem to remember the rumoured fee when he was close to joining Leeds in January was £600K.

Love him or hate him, he's been a great servant to the club in days where there's no loyalty in football at all. Good luck to him, he owes us nothing.

Hurrah - he couldn't pass my House!!!!!

Why? Is he nobbing your missus? ;)

Apparently the move to Leeds in January was going to be a loan with a view to a permanent. That would've gone down well! I'd heard £650,000 at the time.

Leeds' midfield is unravelling very quickly with Johnson and Kilkenny not signing new deals and Norwich rumoured to be after Snodgrass.

How Man utd could have done with a midfielder like Monty on Saturday night......

Yeah - I really think Monty was incredibly loyal signing his 10k a week contract, nowt to do with inept management and a failure to recognise a totally spent force. Whoever signs hiom is making a really terrible mistake as he will ruin the entire style of any team (that's his own team not the opposition).

Please god let this rumour be true.

1 million quid! The delusion of some people on here baffles me, we'll get about half that if we are lucky. Its players like him which attribute to us having no fluidity between the defence and strike force. Get rid, and get someone else who can 'run around alot' but can also............pass the bloody ball.
