Concise 😂 all those things are definitely worth putting in an article about him but maybe don’t try and cram them all into the headline 😂
They did at least spell his name correctly, unlike most of the posters who have contributed to this thread.

if viera and garner come in and we hang on to berge we will be sorted for midfield options and both norwood and fleck will have to up their games to stay in the side

might allow fleck to get forward more like he did before. Not sure fleck is at risk at all. Get viera at behind fleck and berge

I see it as a Midfield 3 of Berge Right of centre Viera Central Fleck Left of Centre with Garner wide of a front 3

Definitely the Norwood role

Absolutely. He can play as a deeper-lying playmaker, or as a box to box midfielder. The lad is a good passer, so as you say Matt, he’d likely play the ‘Norwood role’, with Fleck and Berge either side of him, if we were to go with a midfield trio that is.

Where does Vieira fit if we sign both?

That’s the question! He’s the ball winner, more of a ratter than a playmaker. I guess it depends which system Slav goes with. I’m liking the variety of midfielders we’re linked with though, I just hope we’re able to keep Sander…

Judging from the clips & the long review of his time at Sampdoria - "good passer" - might be stretching it. It looks like he keeps it fairly simple in the middle of the park. Athletic, gets stuck in, nuisance factor.

The second coming of Nick Montgomery...

He's talking about garner

I was referring to James Garner there, Morgs. The comments regarding the ‘ball winning, ratter-type midfielder’ were in reference to Vieira.

He’s a bit more Monty-like as you say!

We already have that in Osborn if it’s just running around a lot. To claim that Vieira is like Monty is incredibly harsh, he tends to actually find his own player with the odd pass and technically they’re totally incomparable.

If we sign both Garner and Viera I really can't work out what formation we're going to go with unless it means Berge is leaving.

If Berge stays and we sign both then I can't see past a 433 or even 4141 with Viera in front of the back 4.

If Berge leaves we could probably go 4231 or 433 with both.

I can't see us signing both to be honest and it looks like Vieira is the most likely.

Then he has to fight his way in. If Berge stays, he starts in this division for the time being, absolutely no question. Norwood and Fleck have done enough (despite last season) to deserve a spot if they are fit.

Stick those 3 behind Didsy, Mousse and (dare I say it) Burke, and we will cause absolute havoc.

Vieira chomps at the bit from the bench, for a little while.

I think that's one of Slavs intentions, formations wise to keep the opposition guessing right up to putting the team sheets in.
I've read where in the past he's not afraid to make subs after 20 mins if it's not panning out like he wants it

How can Norwood and Fleck have done enough, despite not playing well for 18 months? Surely those deserving a spot are those who perform best in training and when given a chance on the pitch?

From my Watford supporting mate

"I liked him as a manager. If he thought it was wrong and needed to be changed during a game he would. Remember we were losing 20 min in and he made 2 substitutions straight away and it turned the game round and we won 3.1."

It's Vieira. Not Viera.

That is all.

I hear that, but before those 18 months... and at this level, they were both magnificent.

Let's not give up on them yet eh?
