Can't believe he's still only 20, he seems to have been around for years.

It's a shame he never pushed on to the first team, but it speaks volumes that he came back from his loan in Australia (a teenager, half way around the world, playing for an awful team) to positive feedback from Notts County fans. That experience could have stripped his confidence and potentially ruined him but he's right back at it and made a brave choice in search of regular first team football which is exactly what he needs.

I don't know much about him but I've heard the name for a few years and I notice he's from Sheffield which is always a shame to see local lads released but like Billy Sharp to Scunthorpe all those years ago, he has a chance to make a name for himself in the lower leagues and progress back up the leagues. All the best Sam.

As a 16/17 year old he was linked in the press with a move to Everton but ruptured his achilles on loan at Notts County. Hopefully this move will get his career going.

Or could be similar to the Kean Bryan deal, where we let them have him for free but with an agreed buy back price. This is assuming he wasn't out of contract?

Had a year left so united will have had to agree to let him go early so there’s a chance we’ve protected our interests like with whiteman.
