Snap their hands off for that. He's good, but we can get a solid championship keeper for a pittance of that and we still need a CB, creative mid and a winger or 2.
Will we spend it though? Do we now how to spend it wisely? Can we identify and buy targets with most clubs currently not looking to buy or sell.

Arsenal are ‘lining up’ a £30million bid for Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, who the Gunners prefer over West Brom’s Sam Johnstone.

TalkSPORT report that Arsenal are readying a £30million bid for Sheffield United goalkeeper Ramsdale.

Difficult because he’s developing and good keeper. But if you bank 30m and spend 10m on a decent replacement it’s a move worth doing I would say…

that said it’s talksport. I’ll believe it when there are some more reputable sources reporting anything.

For one, it’s talksport reporting this so will be a load of shit. Second, if they want him that bad then we need to hold our ground for the £37m. Every million matters in the championship, especially with Bournemouth having a 20% sell on clause. Those extra millions can be the difference between getting our top targets or not. Unless verrips is baller, what’s the point selling. All it does is create more hassle because we then need a new keeper and its more difficult to buy as teams know we have money.

2 BIDS REJECT FOR RAMSDALE ALREADY ACCORDING TO TALKSPORT

The Gunners have already seen two bids for him rejected and are preparing to go in with a third.

talkSPORT’s transfer correspondent Alex Crook said: “Aaron Ramsdale, of course a late call-up to England’s European Championship squad, he had a great time being the backup goalkeeper in that competition.

“It is my understanding that Arsenal have made the Sheffield United ‘keeper their no.1 target. They’ve been linked with Sam Johnstone as well, but it’s all in now for Aaron Ramsdale.

Will we spend it though? Do we now how to spend it wisely? Can we identify and buy targets with most clubs currently not looking to buy or sell.

I think it is more likely to fund loans, in at least a couple of positions anyway, and just a portion of that 30m would allow us to meet serious wage demands from loaning clubs.

Pernanents would be better of course, but I don't mind how we get them in to be honest.

We have aims of promotion, though. We don't want a stop-gap Championship keeper for now who might be good enough to help take us up but not good enough for the top flight. We'd be signing ourselves up for a potential transfer headache in 9 months' time if we achieve our goal.

Needs to be silly money for Rammers imo. We'll probably accept £30m, but I'd want more for him.

If Ramsdale does leave for Arsenal then Utd need to sign a replacement goalkeeper quickly with only 2 weeks to go b4 seasons kicks off. I would rather Utd sign a replacement GK perm than on loan

Yeah I get that, but I am not sure how much more we can expect to get in the current climate and should it help us go up then I think we are well set to attract a top flight keeper anyway.

I also think of the Henderson loan, and how impactful that was. Maybe he was a freak in that respect, but I suspect there are other gems out there who would jump at the chance to come here. We can worry about a PL keeper if/when we get back there imo.

If he's their number one target make them pay for it. Brighton have squeezed 50m out of them for their 2nd best centre half.

35m plus adds on based on international appearances. No point having trophy based add ons, it's arsenal after all and with the look of their team this year they're looking at 40 points for survival

For a club of our financial clout 30m for Ramsdale is a no brainer
A replacement for 5 to 10 m should gives us some wiggle room .
We can give cover for any new keeper by trying some outlandish systems ....like attacking
Take off Bournemouth’s sell on and it’s around 23/24M

If some had come in at Christmas with that money......
How many blades would have been willing to drive him to London???
Lot of us

Take off Bournemouth’s sell on and it’s around 23/24M

depends on what we have agreed

sell on %s are usually on a % of the profit on a transfer. Say we paid 20m and sell him for 30 with a 15% sell on, we would owe them 1.5m sell on.

I don't know what Arsenal have seen in him to make them think he's a goalkeeper to kick them on a level.

Shame as he's first permanent keeper we've had in a few years and would have been nice to see him kick on with us and be here years but £30m is tough to turn down for a goalkeeper in our current situation I think

Where's the Bournemouth have a sell clause come from? Sure there was no mention of it when we bought him, same thing comes up on the Berge thread as well.

I genuinely think he's worth more to us staying here than going. £30m is fuck all compared to what the club receives from achieving promotion, and if he has a good season with us then you can slap another £10m on his price tag no bother.

Rammers at Bournemouth = Relegated

Rammers at Sheffield United = Relegated

Rammers at Arsenal = ???

30 million for Ramsdale is a no brainer. He contributed heavily to a very bad team and although he picked up a bit after Christmas we should bite Arsenal's hand off. Surely he cant be going as their number 1?
