Some of us knew Quickfix Micky would be an utter disaster but agreed to 'give him a chance' and boy, did we give him a chance.

Danny Wilson is not a Pig. He does not support the Pigs; He never has. Will all you brave protestors demand the sale of Maguire? Or insist that Geary's name be expunged from club records?

Protest? About what? He hasn't started yet! Are you experts in Futurecrime?

I bet he wins a lot more than four games in his first 24! I bet his football style dovetails with Pembo far better than Quickfix or the ex semi-pro goalie.

His Barnsley team won promotion and delighted the public by the way they achieved it - proper football.

I'm not delighted about this appointment; I'm not even pleased, but I'll give the fellow a fair chance. You know, just like you hypocrites insisted we should with Adams.

The only protest I'll be making is against the idiotic, ignorant, knee-jerk car-park warriors who claim to support the same club that I do.

If it's you, Danny - Welcome. I hope you recruit some proper footballers; get rid of the heroes of mediocrity and the dinosaurs and ultimately, together with Pembo, build us a football team.

Sorry Pinchy but i strongly disagree i, as a matter of fact was not in favour of adams, who incidently i dont think was given a fair crack at the whip! I was not in favour of blackwell either, but i was quite optimistic when robson was appointed and look how that turned out. my point is i dont sneer at every appointment unless it is mourinho or such like but IMHO wilson is the wrong choice plain and simple as i said in a previous post not just because he is a pig but cos i dont think it is the right choice (and cos hes a pig)!! as for "attractive football give me 11 chris morgans any day and you can stick your pretty stuff!!! So will I. I don't care about Wilson's background. I care about 3 things here;

1. He's shit
2. many people do care, so he will be under pressure immediately. He wont get the time he needs
3. Our owner is so clueless he can't see points 1 AND 2.

I could weep that anyone would think that this is a good appointment, but I will give him time - ie wont call for his head during the inevitable sticky period. It doesn't alter the fact that on internet forums where we discuss such things, the only reasonable conclusion is that we've made a disastrous appointment.

Pinchy is so desperate to see Brazilian football he's got a 15 year old tune ringing in his ears and blinding his logic.

As he never gave Adams a chance by the same measure, can I take it he agrees Wilson is a poor appointment? It seems not?

As a blade for 24 years ive seen more downs than ups and lots of crap football-but i have never,ever felt as low as a supporter than i am feeling about this appointment-mccabe cannot support the blades anymore or he wouldnt do this to fellow supporters.

I for one was not happy at hhe appointment of adams initially but was prepared to give him a chance with his own team and a full season to prove himself, when he was sacked i thought ok, a bit harsh but at least if we make a decent choice he will have full pre season and transfer window, then KM drops this bombshell, its a bad choice and i think in your heart of hearts you secretly agree!!

Wilson is from Wigan. He is not a Blade, but neither is he an Owl. He has played for them and managed them. So did Derek Dooley.

My son watches Swindon regularly. His opinion is that under Wilson they played attacking football and kept the ball on the ground. They were also a passing side. The reason they went down this season is because (like us) they sold all their best players, one of whom was a prolific striker, and another a very good central defender.

I have no more idea than anyone else how well or badly Wison will do. But I wish him well and am prepared to give him a chance.

I'm not going to suggest anyone is being hypocritical because people are entitled their views but I do completely agree with pinchy on pretty much every other aspect of this. The guy should be given a chance and those who are angrily opposed to him but insist its not because he's ex piggy.....well, sorry.....I don't believe you. If the guy even gets a chance to start his new job I will judge on his merit as the Blades' manager. He must have wanted the job to interview for it and knowing what I do about Danny Wilson he has enough professional pride to want to win for this football club. As a fellow human being he deserves a fair opportunity to prove he can do the job and if he is going to lead our boys, I for one wish him the very best of luck.

A lot of people on here insist that McCabe has put his own interests first in the past and doesnt care about this football club. I would suggest that caring about this football club would include giving the new manager a chance and not embarrasing the club with a irrationally motivated protest.....but whatever.....

He might not have been my preferrred choice, but I don't have particularly strong feelings about the appointment. His managerial record is by no means bad - probably better than Adams's managerial record, but that doesn't necessarily mean he will do well here. I hope he does, and he will stand more chance of doing so if we are supportive rather than trying to throw him out of the job before he has even started.
