Heard its Robins, had a phone call :):)

Heard it's irrelevant whilever the club's set up as it is. No decent players, no investment, doesn't matter who the poor whipping boy they put at the helm is, it's other areas that are desperate for change if we're ever going to be a semi successful club.

What a joke of an appointment.

Can our hierarchy get any further out of touch with the fans? Absolutely beggars belief this one.

We all need to consider what would the Wednesdayites want us to do..... protest, revolt and tear ourselves apart is the answer.

Danny Wilson is not my choice, but he does have a reasonable resume and presumably he is signed up to the future direction of the club as laid out by Kevin McCabe.

It is our job as fans to support the team and give the new man a chance..... we may be sick tonight, but if Wilson succeeds we'll be the ones smiling and our rivals will literally be pig sick. If Wilson takes us out of League One and then on to the Premiership he wont be ex-Owl Danny Wilson, he will be Blades legend Danny Wilson.

If our youngsters are to succeed and if a more considered passing game is to succeed it needs patience from us, the fans.

Willing Danny Wilson to fail or grabbing the pitchforks and trying to drive him out is the ultimate example of cutting our nose off to spite our face.

UP THE BLADES

No, surely they'd rather him stay in charge (no protest), thus prolonging the length of time they're able to take the piss.

where has this information come from?.. the star being mischevious again?.. frankly i don't give a monkeys tbh where he comes from.. put it this way. putting a blade in charge didn't exactly work did it?

Not my choice but didn't he take the pigs out of the prem and start the slide to div 3 so he could[?] be a hero figure.
Perhaps Pembo is happy with this and had some input.

Every cloud?

Sorry BH i've already stated this isn't just about the Wednesday connection for me, his record last season was worst than the manager we got rid of.

I'm more surprised people are surprised than surprised at the appointment.

No we don't. Fuck the pigs, I don't care what they want or think. I care about our club, and this is a disastrous decision in the short term and the long term.

McCabe has dropped some utter clangers in recent years, but this is by far the worst.

I'm not happy. I don't really rate him and I think Robins would be a much better option, as would pretty much everybody else we were linked to.

That said, he's vastly experienced within the game and has had some success. I don't care about his Wednesday connections, and if he 'hated' us he wouldn't want the job (given our finances it's not like he's here for some cash). The BBC rarely report something if its unconfirmed, so i'm assuming its a done deal.

I won't be going to any protest. No matter how annoying and anti-climactic his appointment is, his record certainly isnt poor enough to warrant a response of disgust.

I agree with every word of that. I want my club to be successful and I don't see how hounding a manager out before we've even given him a chance is going to help us.

I'm more optimistic about Wilson than I was when Adams was appointed.

Its not about willing him to fail, its knowing that he will.

Did you write that post with a straight face :)

I'm pretty sanguine about Danny Wilson. Passing football. Experience of the division. Runs teams on scant resources.

Sit back, forget the past, and enjoy some football on the deck for once.

:)

3 points in 33 games thats his current form in this very division. How that warrants him as being better than any of the other candidates is behyond beggers belief to me.

everyone needs to calm down.. we're letting the fact that he is ex wednesday get in the way

When you say past, are we talking Wednesday past, or relegation in this league past?

The Wednesday connection is actually hiding the biggest concern about the appointment.

See above, I'm certainly not.

As many have said, most would have been over the moon with Sheridan... and he's got a bigger connection to Wedneday than Wilson.

Has something been announced? Please tell me this is the smokescreen to make John Smith from The Red Lion FC seem like a good appointment.

UTB

It is our job as fans to support the team and give the new man a chance

A job implies some sort of return, some reward for our labours. Being fed porkies, kicked in the teeth and shafted without even the consolation of a reach around is the definition of something else entirely.

That is pretty shit.

The Wendy past. He's had his ups and downs as a manager like most unemployed managers. And let's face it, we ain't gonna prise anyone out of a job at the moment.

In truth, I never thought we'd get anyone exciting as manager so I'd no hopes to be dashed.
