My dad and his mate used to take me to singles nights in the Social club every now and then ,I was the youngest by 20 years and the ratio was about 5:1
great times .

was in the buccaneer that night found out score walking down fargate to blue bell for last orders

Some people have fantastic memories

Dont know
Most are quite well dressed so it might not be the bier Kellar although a few at the back may have dashed upstairs to get in the photo.
Could be a pint of Watneys Red Barrel that guys holding up, laughing to his mate this is even worse than the Webster's . In the interest of anonymity I know nowt or nobody

unfortunately cahill i can remember more from 50 years ago than 5 months ago its worrying i know lol
I can remember good chunks of that season, the first four matches in particular. I can especially remember the Southampton and Leeds games because I was actually at the games. Funny how you can remember in vignettes. I can visualise walking up Shoreham street and seeing a big mob of Southampton fans outside the ground. Memories are strange aren’t they.

think it was either 71 or 72 that southampton fans caused quite a bit of trouble at the lane that 3 - 0 win against leeds that first season was fantastic leeds were lucky not to have been beaten by 5

Our first season after promotion they caused trouble on the kop, although it was probably a good hour before kick off. For some reason I used to get into the ground really early in those days. Funnily enough I went to Ipswich v Southampton 1972 as I was by then stationed at RAF Wattisham and they caused trouble at Portman road as well. I also remember that match. No idea why I remember some games and not others ?

While The Blades was at Highbury that famous night when we licked em 1-0. I was on board a ship called Ellinis on our way to Cape Town South Africa.
I remember a leaflet pushed under the cabin door. advertising the next day's activities. at the bottom of the page were football results. when I read Arsenal 0 Sheffield United 1. I ran up to the Radio Room and asked is the score was correct. I was told it is correct. I jumped up and celebrated. unfortunately, I was too young to have a few beers. I was 12 at the time. can,t wait for Silent Blades 50 years ago. great memories.
The 60 years ago is good as well. by the way.

Vivid memories of Southampton game a massive storm in second half??

I was at the Top Rank Tuesday under 18's disco with my skin head mates. The DJ announced the result and a cheer went up. We were stood upstairs looking down at the young ladies on the dance floor as the Blades were top of the league, great memory. United were the only ones that scored that night though :D.
