'Midfielder Josh Lundstram has extended his stay at Crewe Alexandra by signing a two-year contract. '

Least one Lunny isn't greedy 😅

Thankfully he's no longer the problem of SUFC. Pity the poor suckers who sign this lazy arsed self entitled twat up. Goodbye John, don't bother coming back anytime soon. Charlatan.

Im glad hes gone, I have no time for people playing out their contract. I think questions need to be asked of CW here. Lundstram wanted a PL contract on the back of a very impressive opening to our PL campaign, he was integral when It wasn't forthcoming he decided within his right to see out his contract and seek a free transfer elsewhere which is annoying but fair enough.

His performances since have not just been half-arsed but calculatedly cautious in an attempt to avoid injury it would seem which some may argue is counterproductive seeing as he's in the shop window

Guess the question I'm asking is how much of his run of games in the team down to CW thinking right fuck you for not signing a contract I'm going to make you play out your time here at the detriment of the team? having said that PH persevered too so maybe there was other factors at play

Fortunately for him, he did enough in that one season to get another premiership club. He will end up at somewhere like Burnley next season, god knows how he's absolutely useless. I feel we can say that confidently after watching him over the past 4 seasons. If he goes to a team that plays a flat two in midfield he will be exposed even more.

The only other option was to play one of the youngsters.

How the fuck you get to a stage as a Premier League club that you either have to play some untried young kid or a player taking the piss, is beyond me. Yes there may have been an injury to Berge in late December but what a shambles. It was clear last pre season that we needed midfield reinforcements which never happened. Fantastic planning for the season by CWAK.

yes agree apart from us not attempting to try a different system and playing with 10 men all season not strenghening midfield was the biggest contributor to our relegation and cost us big time how we could have let luke freeman go out on loan and not bring at least 2 more midfielders in is a head shaker 🤔🤔🤔

The problem is that this was not the only option and that is why there was so much frustration when Lundstram was continually selected after he refused to commit himself to the club.We had the funds available to replace Lundstram and never did,the whole situation still boils my piss even now,if any one thing affected our season more than any other then it is this…..piss poor management.

It also reveals that some footballers get the agents they deserve. Any self-respecting agent would have advised JL to reflect and consider, but maybe they both imagined that he/they deserved bigger and better.
Couldn't disagree more! Not on the point about JL thinking he's better than he is, he's a rancid footballer and will tumble down the leagues.

Any self respecting agent seeks to make the most money for himself and the client, and as a by product play as far up the football pyramid as possible

On the assumption he gets huge pay rise and a few year long contract (and stays in the Premier League) his agent has done a fantastic job - and struck whilst his valued dramatically peaked.

Unless he's nothing lined up and will end up back in the Championship, but don't see that happening.

Anyway... Close the door on your way out John 👍

Not quite the only option. Another would be a change of formation

however I’ve said elsewhere CW came in for unfair criticism for his “decision” to not include youngsters when we were short on subs. I don’t recall him ever saying anything, maybe he did but I missed it? But PH said that kids can’t be brought in to the 1st team squad during Covid due to our academy status.. which is one of the most obscure sentences I’ve ever written

On playing out his contract he's saved us a lot of money as one of the lowest paid players, turned down wast improvement. All a bit strange

Regarding PH, I think there were a few things going on behind the scenes, no evidence to support this, but I suspect his first instruction was, don't rock the boat, just keep things ticking over, you don't want the job and the board have a few names they want to check out, so don't drop people, don't change the system too much etc

Time will tell........there's still time for JL to become the auction he had hoped he'd become. Can't see it myself, and the fact that he had a 'dream' season in the Prem doesn't seem to have increased his value to the English game's Prem clubs.

Afterthought is the strongest selling point I'd apply to JL, and even then he'll have done well to get the mega bucks he feels he's entitled to. Lunny had his moment in the sun, now he can return to the drizzle and grey clouds of a Champ side at best, but more likely one of Div 1's 'big hitters'.

I know someone at my tennis club who is a big Oxford United fan.
He said JL was known for his bad attitude back then with them, so its not surprising how it ended up.
