Does no one just think that Wembley is not made for a striker like Kane? It’s about as big as you can get, not at all made for strikers like Kane who like to play compact, Kane likes to make a shimmy and shoot, not get in between the lines…

Would love to know the pitch size difference between Wembley and The Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

edit: I don’t know how true but Google say’s Wembley is 133m and Spurs stadium is 105m

Massive difference in how he can affect a game.
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
''105m x 68m

The association football pitch of the stadium has a standard dimension of 105m x 68m, same in size as the pitches at Old Trafford and Wembley Stadium''

Wilder built something you could fall in love with. Exciting football, a team with a big personality.

Southgate has built a very functional team that has got some good results. I’m delighted about the results but will never fall in love with the style of football.
Wilder (when it worked well) went for a high risk, high reward style. I think that's great for league football where wins are worth a lot more than draws and quickly outweigh losses. There might be a legitimate argument that it's not ideal for knockout football where one loss is all it takes. Trying to keep solid, keeping clean sheets, and then relying on the abundance of talent up top to get a goal. Doesn't make for a great spectacle but it makes sense at least.

Excellent point. And might partly explain why I'll never enjoy international football as much as I do club football.

People keep talking about Kane's form but maybe he's doing exactly what he's being told to do? What if his ineffectiveness is down to the role Southgate is trying to put him in? All the play was about getting the ball out to Sterling and Saka and we didn't look to go through the middle and bring Kane into the game. That wouldn't have been a bad plan if we'd got a decent number of crosses in but it's a waste of a player who can link up as well as Kane.

Not saying I was impressed by his lack of movement but if Southgate's telling him to stand up top and wait for the ball then it could be on the manager not the player.
Agree. Kane at Spurs has Son playing with/off him and has freedom to move all over the place to pull defenders out of position.

In last night`s set up it looked as if his job was to remain in the middle and occupy the German central defenders, while other players tried to get behind the defence down the flanks.

Bet you can't guess who holds the record for most goals scored at Wembley Stadium?

The answer rhymes with Barry Zane

I'm surprised at the amount of grappling the referees have allowed in this tournament, last night for instance the big masked German left back practically used Saka for Piggy backs at times and got away with it........ 😲

You mean rudiger
Slimy sneaky twat
Ideal for chelski

Kane is a much better finisher, he finished top scorer & assists in the Prem. He is frustrating mainly his pace within an athletic team stands out, but you cant just bring in DCL with no experience and put that down to stubbornness.

I appreciate this isn't the reason for the topic though, managers will stick with players they trust. That's why they tend to take them to the clubs they join, we will probably see Wilder take a few of our players with him at some point too.
What to Barnsley :)

I’ll have to put my hand up and say, that I simply didn’t see what everyone was raving about, with regard to Jack Grealish. I always thought he self indulgent, kept hold of the ball much too long and went down so easily. But now in my eyes, England are a lot poorer team without him.
