It's a decent shout tbf, especially with the Paul Mitchell link at Chezzie.

I would think he'll be on a decent wage after going from Hull /Swansea/Stoke, but looking at his playing stats it looks like he's been relegated twice from the Prem in the first year of both teams - hope you're not superstitious !

Lol, forget about the relegations! My first choice would be Sergio Canos from Brentford and possibly then Freeman from QPR, but as I said, I can't see us getting two decent forwards for less than £15-20m unless there's a decent loan somewhere and we still need more competition for the number 10 and how much money can we afford on all these players!

I totally trust that Wilder will get it right and maybe we'll go abroad for the first time in a while too.

Hope it's true. Good experienced pro, versatile, certainly Championship quality and available on a free.
There was a point in his career where I thought he was going to be a very good Premier league player but he just never maintained those standards.
Not quite sure why he's been painted as a crock. He had a hernia op last season and calf injury but still bagged 26 appearances.
If he's willing to accept a wage within our structure then it really is a no brainier. He's be a quality addition.

Midfield options are next to nothing with lunny leaving and Berge almost definitely leaving. Leaves us with only fleck, norwood, ozzy and freeman really. Potentially slater but have to see what slav thinks of him as hull want him. Solid backup for no fee. Won’t start many but will push the incoming midfielders and option of the bench. Him and besic as free backups allows us to spend funds on more exciting midfielders

Don’t agree with comments about signing players as backup - that’s been our recruitment failure for the last couple of years. Let’s bring in a small number of quality players that go straight into the 11. We have plenty of solid squad players for the championship.

It depends the Brentford model as we knew it (finding undervalued foreign players in the lower leagues) is probably over now due to new work permit regs. The new way of doing it will be picking up those players and having them play for an affiliated club until they qualify. Brentford own a Swedish team.

Agreed JK, that policy saw us sign a raft of players no better than we had who either didn't play or are now difficult to get rid of because of their wages.

We need an all action box to box central player and a right sided one to replace Lundstram.

Jokavic seems to have made it clear Norwood will play and assuming Fleck does the 2 new ones slot in with those 2.

Who do we have for next season who plays the same way? Right footed box to box and creative?
The reason people are saying squad player is because we expect better to be brought in but they aren’t there now and we’re thin in Midfield.

If we can get Clucas and Mowatt on frees then the midfield quality is already significantly better than last season. You also have a decent budget left for the 5 loans.

Can’t be signing both of them when we’ve got Freeman, Osborn and Fleck though. Just makes Norwood our only right footed midfield player, a chemical imbalance.
I love Mowatt, we should sign him, but we have too many left sided players and not enough right sided at the minute.

Clucas is a good option too, very versatile and a strong runner with the ball. Could play left back, left wing back, left midfield or in a midfield 3. But we can’t have both him and Mowatt for me with the players we already have at the minute.
