Shouldn't this be in general chat?

I particularly liked the first post on the second page from pompey owl

Was in Corsica (a small island between France and Italy)

Are grunters that thick that they don't know where corsica is?

this is the best
I went to the planet Mars on holiday last year wearing my Blade top.
All the Martians booed me and said Wednesday were the best team.
One of the little green men said Wednesday also had many fans on Jupiter and Pluto.
MASSIVE.

I got in a taxi in Dublin, Ireland (between britain and USA) today (shameless stag weekend plug) and told taxi driver was a Liverpool fan. I told him I was a United fan. he said "which one?" man u or Sheffield united. The fact that he mentioned our name in the same sentence as the champions league finalists makes us way bigger.

He also said he doesn't hate us*

* actually the last bit was made up by me, but he definitely thought it

You can almost smell the confusion..... "I don't get it. My old Doris drives a Vauxall Corsica" ;)

That was like reading a conversation between my piggy friends. They always say the same things but because I've listened to it for so long I only hear the following nowadays:- "blah blah blah massive club blah blah blah, blah blah blah sheridan and waddle, blah blah blah di canio blah blah, blah blah blah boxing day blah blah" - wall to wall repetitive shite about players and occasions most of them dont remember.

I can honestly say on my travels up and down this country and abroad, I have been asked whether I'm a blade or an owl on various occasions. I couldnt tell you which side was mentioned first the most because its probably 50/50 in my case and to be honest I dont care enough to remember. I'm sure some of our sty dwelling counterparts have met people who regard them higher than us but there is a very simple explanation for that.....

United have had a recent appearance in the PL and have had well known players (e.g. Beattie, Kilgallon etc.) and we have run into a lot of big clubs in the meantime, developing rivalries. Wednesday on the other hand have done fuck all for just over a decade and no truly big clubs can remember the last time they played them! So whats to hate?!

Fucking hell they're bloody boring gits, I love how what takes priorty to them, is that they have to try and figure someway to make themselves feel a better club than us. They're vastly running out of ideas that it will come down to who has the best loo roll one day.

if no one hates you it means they dont care ,i hate man yoo ,liverpool ,chelsea and arsenal
the reason why ? im jealous of them

no one is jealous of the pigs ,no one cares about them

people humour them ,oh yes didnt you used to be a big club ?
its sympathy ,thats all and they thrive on it

the reason forest fans hate us is simple because we remember what they did during the miners strike

pigs dont care as long as someone tells them they are a big club

sums up the fact they have no loyalty to anything ,most of them arent even from sheffield

---------- Post added at 02:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:05 PM ----------

and using west ham as an example is pretty self explanatory ,we hate them ,they hate us

I find showing them the list of clubs who've averaged 30,000 since the 1960s and those that haven't usually sends them into meltdown.

Or ask a pig to estimate the average difference in our home gates over the last 40 years and then tell them the facts.

Got to hand it to them they've fooled most of the football and media world as to their massiveness.

yes true tuns ,the only two sheffield clubs to average over 30 ,ooo in a season are sheffield united and YES YOUVE GUESSED IT SHEFFIELD UNITED

another thing i dont get is why its so important to them to be bigger than us ,i mean i couldnt care less if united get bigger crowds than them

maybe its because most of them started supporting during racist rons glory days and they dont have any real affinity with the club

Its a really funny read actually that thread because they tie their own argument in knots and prove the opposite of what they're claiming. The hatred they refer to is because of our rivalries with those clubs and the fact that in recent years we have played in big games and even had a season in the PL. Two things which they as a club, have not seen for over a decade.....hence no one hates them because they're an after thought. They've spent so long in the footballing wilderness that big clubs dont look upon them as a threat or even a credible club anymore.

I've met people who dislike the Blades and I've met just as many people who like us. To suggest we're hated throughout football is a massive exaggeration if not a myth but if I'm wrong and so many other fans do hate us, then that just proves we left our mark somewhere along the way. So what they're essentially saying is that we're memorable and we've ruffled some feathers.....fantastic if thats the case!

They're just worried about the 6 points we're going to take off them next season :)

my point exactly ,no one cares about them
other fans feel nothing but sympathy for their car crash of a club

another myth they like to perpetuate is that we are going to be in huge financial trouble next year

cant see it personally

the club has a business plan that will see us at LEAST rival the piggies wage bill

they really are the most delusional fans in the country

I've spoken to many fans from other clubs and none have shown any animosity when i've told them i'm a Blade (pity maybe ;) ) - apart from many moons ago my then-manager having a go when we played Citeh and did a number on Ali Bernabia. The fact that they have a debate about this shows them up for the sad twats they are.

5 Years ago everyone loved Doncaster. Now not so much. Why is that?

There's a reason nobody hates Wednesday, and it's the polar opposite of what they allow themselves to believe. Delusional twats.

UTB

they love to hate us ,maybe its because we are the citys real club ,a club based in the heartland of the city
not like those oinkers from south barnsley ,most of whom reside in places like este dene ,doncaster and rovram

the club has a business plan

Shouldn't this be in the things I don't understand thread?

and another thing when they talk about us being clasless chavs they are talking about the people who reside in the city of the club they proffess to support
youre either with us or against us

Read all about it our rivals don't like us.

I mean its not like we have threads on this forum about Wednesday and their fans.

:tumbleweed:
its not that they dont like us ,its the way thay dont like us

offering opinions that we are the most hated team in the country ,sorry if youre happy with that
personally i think its bullshit ,never once been abroad and met someone with a disliking for our club and if i did ,so fucking what ?

i could counter their stories of going into bars in far away distant lands and people recounting how much they hate the blades with many a story of how much people hate the pigs after the hillsborough disaster but i wont because that would make me as desperate as them

We are not the most hated club in the country.

Its always been Man U or L**ds.

Just ignore the idiots from the other side of the city.

and another thing when they talk about us being clasless chavs

Always makes me smile that one - although not without a small grain of truth (if you'd have asked my daughter to draw a picture of a Blades fan after the open day I took her to a few years ago she'd have drawn someone about 20 stone, spotty with lank hair, a burger in one hand and a supersize Coke in the other - not a good day). We've both got supporters who look like what'd be left after the gene pool had been drained and scraped, but if there's anything the world in general won't think of when they picture Wednesday fans it will by stylish or classy.

My mental image of a stereotypical pig fan has always involved ginger hair and wearing a pig shirt at least one size too small. I know we like a tache and highlights, but at least our stereotype doesn't look like he'd get bullied by cub scouts.

i seem to remember a few years ago united supporters being ranked as the second most fashionable
which is not bad considering most of the football press are hammers

Most football fans I speak to have very consistent opinions of both clubs. The feedback I often get:-

Blades: working class club, gutsy, physical sides, moaners, glass is always half empty, good sense of humour, good following, big stadium

Pigs: had a good side once, good following, not done anything for ages, glass is always half full, a bit delusional, talk about the past a lot, big stadium

yep ,sums them up pretty well
