Who will Wilder try & sign?

Yeah Wilder went on record and said winger Burke will only be playing down the middle. With a change of role and the right coaching, I can honestly see Burke becoming our new Jamie Murphy.

Might be wrong but when he first came to us didn't he say that he doesn't like going back for players as a matter of principal?

I know we got linked with Ricky Holmes when he was at Northampton so he's clearly not above it entirely...

It would be folly to sell any of our players to our promotion rivals. Don’t confuse form with ability, many have been shit for most of the season but they’re also good players at championship level, most of whom have won promotion before.

Can't help thinking if Luiz had been sent off, as he should have been, for pulling back Burke at Arsenal, we would have seen more of Burke, used as an out ball, either keeping an attacking full back in his own half or pulling across a Centre Half to cover him

Bit early to be drinking mate...
If you look back to Kendall or Warnock, they both explained the reasons how they quickly turned round a team, by talking to each player, simplifying their roles and outlining their job in the team, Burke came with the rumour/rep from Germany that he struggled with complex tactics, just might have seen better performances if he had been given a specific job

If he goes to WBA, which current United players will he try & sign.

Firstly players like Baldock, Egan, JOC etc I am sure he would want to, but they are unrealistic. So for me it will be Basham, Stevens, McGoldrick & Sharp.

As a side issue if he goes for these our friend Alan Harper on Porktalk will have to invent more bollocks as we would barely have a player currently aged over 30 in the whole squad.
The only players that leave will be he ones we want to be rid of there’s no way WBA will be able to afford our best players and theres no way PA will let any players leave or for peanuts - have you forgot KM is no longer in charge.

For the first time ever I feel that we have a chairman that wants success and not what profit is on the balance sheet.

Think you have misread the post - which players will he try and sign, not which players will the club sell to him.

I don't think Wilder has much of a record of signing previous players.

I suppose this is the first time he's moved sideways to a club so maybe that changes.

Apart from Jake Wright and Ricky Holmes, I can't think of any and they were only squad players though Jake forced his way in.

As well as controlling, passing and striking a football.

You can class Burke as another one of CW's projects like Rodwell or Morrison, you can continue to criticise and single him out, but in reality his purchase and use within the team speaks more about the things lacking in management than in the player

It’s both.

Wilder’s insistence he was a forward and only playing him as such was idiotic.

Burke at the same time nowhere near PL standard. He lacks basic skills in all areas.

Oooh Dronnie, is that inside info, or your opinion?! You're probably right either way. but that's probably not unusual either.

As for Wilder and signing our players. There's a few reasons I can't see many, if any going. 1 we're no likely to sell to a rival club for promotion. 2 he'll only want the better players who are likely to be in the team anyway. 3 the most likely are the senior players who Wilder had/signed from the two promotions like Sharp, Bash, Fleck, McGoldrick and can't many of those not playing. Sharp is arguably the most likely, but then again, can you honestly see the club selling a potential 20 goal a season man to a rival!

It's ironic on Robinson, he would have really suited Slav's football as a left forward, but I would imaginne Wilder will be more than happy to use Ronbinson in the Championship, it wasn't as if Wilder didn't rate Robinson, but for the Prem he doesn't have enough standout qualities, that's what Wilder said in effect when he sold him. But for the Champ it's a different ball game.

As for the Burke knockers. Just as Robinson would be ideal for Slav's system, so could Burke as right forward and he could play as a winger effectively. That's where we'll see the best of Burke. He could be a real fans favourite next season. I honestly wouldn't swap him for Robinson as others have suggested if we can get the best out of Burke, and in the Champ why not!?
Reasonably “out there” that management and certain players did not see eye to eye. Certain players same with other players. Not exactly deep rifts in the camp but “divisions” nonetheless.

I don’t think you get a pasting like we got without people tiring of each other. If it happened before the season started, then it becomes a story.

If Wilder ends up at WBA can't see him trying for many from us unless we make them available for transfer.

He'd probably like Berge, Fleck, Basham, Baldock, Sharp, McGoldrick, Egan potentially. But most of these I'd expect to be involved next season aside from Berge or Egan who may depart for the league above etc.

Also depends on how they are going to play at WBA. Wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't go for overlapping centre backs given that tactic's origin is a story in itself. It just so happened it gave us an edge too and fitted the staff so well for a long time. In fact I think it could still work for us but needs a freshen up if we do so.

Interesting you omit the expensive flops at the top of the pitch.

He should be physically forced to purchase them 😀😉.
