well seemed that hecky was ruling himself out of the job in the post match interview and he certainly wouldnt be my choice however if jokanovic and clement turn us down i would prefer hecky to the likes of appleton or robinson

So we end the season with MooseFat , McB , poor old JoC & as few others nowhere near fit. And do the uninjured ones now hang around to meet the new manager or what ? We have 3,000 ardent souls attend hoping to see a new man introduced but their £40 gets them only silence. Surely it is unforgivable for the Club to just amble into the most crucial close-season in recent history without any kind of communication to players or fans - is there actually a properly constituted Board at the Lane or is it somewhere in Belgium or Arabia ? Feck knows what's happening so the question of my ST renewal can await some kind of plan being disclosed - no good buying it only to find that the Kop redevelopment is actually a demolition & replacement with as apartments , which may now be on the agenda based on a 3,000 gate for a PL match.
And to think that as one on here were advocating the construction of a 45,000 stadium in lockdown #1 , how I laughed !
Anyway , the Club have a week to convince me to buy an ST .... I hold no great hopes of hearing from them 😉
This ^^^^^^^^^ I will not commit to buying a ST until I know what I will be getting for my money, the way the club is going it might be that I just return for the odd game after finding another interest or hobby in my retirement.

WAH wah Wah wah a lot of our fans are starting to sound like wendy fans , im not going unless we pay a manager 100k a week and spend £40 million get a grip man

Should hear yourself , probably the best squad of players we've ever had interms of players who have done it and young players who could take us forward

A lot of people have turned into premier league fans and demand the sun , lets not lose perspective of where we were only 3/4 years ago

Do you want the minutes for every club meeting or something?

Id much rather have the 18/19k fans who were there in the dark days of league one than 30k self entitled plebs who are only happy if we spend £30 million and appoint jose mourinho and are playing in the prem

🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
Best squad we have ever had my fucking arse, not sure how old you are but I have seen three United squads at least maybe four better than the present one.
And no it isn't about how much money you spend three of the squads I have in mind were built on a small budget.

the ones demanding probably never went yesterday

Go on then name them ? I’m talking last 30 years ?
The early 70's squad Woodward, Currie, Badger, Reece, Salmons, Colquhoun, Powell, Flynn, Eddy finished 6th in 1975
The early 90's Basset squad Tracy, Nilsen, Gayle, Whitehouse, Deane, Hodges, Agana finished 9th in 1992
The 97 squad Deane, Fjortoft, Taylor, Dellas, Borbokis, Kelly, Saunders, Holdsworth, Vonk, Hutchinson, Tiler, McGrath, Wilder, Stuart, Devlin to name a few surely would have gone on to better things if not for Charles Green.
The 2007 squad I'd say was as good as today's mismanaged by Warnock in a similar way to Wilder this season.

So that’s maybe 1 in the past 30 years then

I loved the 97 squad. But that was effectively a team that didn't get promoted out of the Championship. Despite player sales, they'd hardly have been top half in the prem material anyway.

I grew up on those Bassett players mentioned. Nowhere near as good as our current squad. That was a top division before the best players descended from around the world.

Warnock's 2007 team... No way. Not by a long shot.

All my opinion, but yeah, maybe/probably the famous 70s team were better, though I've only seen old videos personally. Not the others.

The dark days of League One ? You're way off beam here FB.
I was there in the darker days of dropping to the 4th Division so you can take your bladeyness and shove it.
I've seen you're defending Lunny on his valedictory thread , so your judgement is questionable to say the least.
And No , I don't expect us to appoint the Special One or spend £30m - we are crap at spending big money fees anyway.
Why are you not saddened by how we have fallen from one of our highest post-war positions of "potential to become an established PL club" ? And fallen in such an inept way ?
If you're hearts not broken at the moment you've never loved this Club like I do.
I don't mind failure - how could I mind failure ? I'm still here after half a century.
But I do mind having my Club mocked in public by the likes of John Lundstram.
Looking at the 3,000 gate on Sunday , it seems I'm not alone.
The Blades need to get their shit together , appoint a manager , write a retained list + recruit some players who are in it for more than just the obscene wages.

that team under spackman could have been a real force if our board hadnt been so stupid as usual selling players played great football

Charlton were promoted in 97-98 and we took them apart on boxing day 4-1, then the transfer window opened the rest is history.

Really? Our team was packed with full internationals Kelly, Borbokis, McGrath, Nilsen, Deane, Fjortoft, Dellas, Saunders, etc

McGrath and Saunders were literally at the end of their careers. Despite doing well for us in the second tier.

Nilsen, who I remember as being amazing, was a Norwegian international who barely played when he eventually went to Spurs.

Fjortfoft, excellent yeah, but never played for a team bigger than us or Middleborough.

Dellas can't have played that much for us, without googling it... And took quite a long time to make it to the "top" of the game (one notably successful club spell, and a freak Greece Euros win).

Deano obviously untouchable.
