Nice to see us win. Nice to see a very wilder esque performance. Yes Ramsdale (Can we class him as a good signing wilder made yet?) kept us in it but we also created more than our goal too.
Energetic, hardworking performance.
Are we sure wilder wasn't somewhere in the stands tonight? ;) (Sadly not)

If we'd seen more of that since Heckingbottom took over I'd be vying for him too. One swallow and all that.

I do wonder with the increased talk of SJ and an appointment near maybe if the players were looking to impress more too?

V. Pleased for Jebbison, good shift, his goal shows more that he's in form too before we bash Brewster. Bit sharp type of a goal. Brewster will get there just like sharp did after his 2nd spell with us Where he really struggled, strikers out of form look poor in form look fantastic. But it's jebbisons moment and he took it. Surely starts next match.

McGoldrick was everywhere. If that lad was more clinical and younger we would struggle to keep him.

Generally a nice to watch team performance.

Finally shout out to J. Robinson I'm not a fan but have we actually missed him?. Far more attacking minded than our recent lcb options..

You can't let it go with Wilder can you 😞

That was without doubt our best performance under PH. Does that mean my opinion on him getting the job has changed? Nope not a millimetre.
J Robinson was a breath of fresh air down the left and defended well
Jebbison sniffing around with good movement got his chance took it....great to see a striker making that move and a ball in that reflected it.
Ramsdale - King Aaron. Superb, three top class saves. The second and third were he made himself big notable stand out.
Post match video of the lads welcoming Jebbison back, scary in places (Lundstram) but then Ramsdale shouting at the camera "how I didnt get man of the match"....hilarious. Shows the dressing room is still got spirit of character.

This is going to sound incredibly harsh on Ramsdale but he's still a very questionable signing. Even though I defended him a fair bit early on, and I'm glad he's now showing his true quality, it took him half a season to stop being a bomb scare. The criticism was that we needed a goalkeeper back then, and the season was effectively dead for us before he got going. Hopefully we hold on to him and build a side with him in it, but we signed a 'keeper for the future when we needed someone in the sticks from the get go.

I said at the beginning of the year that it all went pair shaped last season at palace when berge played for Lunny. If the weekend rumours are right about berge agreeing terms with another club, that club might have said he can’t play for the last 3 games. To me it looked like the players all got together again and played like they did before the berg signing

What about the games against Chelsea and Spurs last season at BL, Berge was in the team, played well, as did everyone else, if there was some sort of attitude re Berge coming in, it's pretty odd that it's taken until now to get things together, why not for the 6 months he was injured and no where near the first team? If its a clash of personalities, lockdown and injury would have nullified that

Utter tosh

Im glad Hecky didn't bother picking up the phone to wilder this week.

Berge's been out for ages anyway though so I don't see how last night's improvement can be attributed to his absence.. I'd say the absence of Lundstram probably had a bigger effect.

I think this possibly accounts for Lundstram. But always seems well liked by the staff and players.

It is harsh. He was shaky, but then again who wouldn't be with the shamble of a defence he had in front of him.

To be honest whoever's in charge, whoever we sell or buy, I just want this effing season over with. Can't get too excited about one match. Win lose or draw next two, seasons been an absolute disgrace.

yes but in a dire season crumbs of happiness are amplified into big magnificent wins.

This time last year I'd have been on tenterhooks waiting for the result. Now its a moan because we've won and wondering where the hell that kind of performance has been all season, typical that we close the gate long after the horse has bolted.

At least we can try and finish the season on some sort of a high that we can take into next season.

Players and fans need to get some confidence going into next season. Last night should give some thought that these players can put in good performances still. Capable of winning matches in the PL. So going into a new season in the Championship, you'd hope there is a good basis there to work from to get back up.

Got to love the Wilder cultists.

Win playing a formation Wilder never started with, a player Wilder bombed out, no Lunny and a youngster up front that was at Chorley under Chris, and people are still trying to attribute a good win and good performance to Wilder.

Quite a feat tbh.

I dunno about a Wilder performance but it was definitely a Sheffield United performance 👍

I'll admit it does still frustrate me, I'd love him to be leading us next season.

If we end up with Slav though, on paper this seems like a good choice for the immediate term. Poss not long term given he doesn't tend to stick around long.

Has the not sticking around ever been his decision though?

What happens indoors,stays indoors.
When the time comes for one of these players to write a book it will all come out about Berge and a couple of more people at the club.
Watch this space 🤦‍♂️

In my opinion, you can't overestimate the importance of finishing with a bit of positive momentum. Could be massive for confidence, players and fans, going into next season.

I'm sure the queues for John Lundstram's autobiography will be round the block twice over!

More than shaky. He was dropping easy catches from crosses at least once a game for a couple of months. We'd got to the point that my defence of him was that I refused to believe he could possibly be that bad. The turnaround has been fantastic.

Doesn't Hecky have a better points per game return than Wilder this season, and it's not even his team.

If a deal had been done why wouldn't we just announce it? Sounds like a right olde of made up bollocks spouted by those on Twitter and Facebook.
If he's agreed terms and they're paying his buy out, then why keep it quiet?
I don't doubt they'll be interest, and we may be talking but if a deal is done, then it's done.

Never want to see us lose but next season is months away. When it starts we'll probably have a new management and coaching team and some players will have moved on and we'll have signed others. im not sure we can read too much into whatever happens. We had a good pre-season, if you call beating Scottish clubs and Derby County good, but that was followed by an absolutely disastrous set of results.
I wouldn't grumble if we put N'castle and Burnley to the sword but I won't be reading too much into it, ditto if we get walloped.
