Good league record at Goodison Park since I became a committed Blade in 1970

Yeah I was thinking that myself silent. I went to the “Mel Rees” game which was the finest goalkeeping display I had ever seen, the Brian Marwood last minute winner game and another in the Basset era which we won. Add in last seasons smash and grab and I thought to myself that it must be a bloody good record 👍

Edit. The other Bassett performance was the Mel Rees game

3 Bassett wins were 2-1 (Hodges, Marwood), 2-0 (Bryson , Cork) 2-0 (Bradshaw, Hodges)

I was there in 75 as a 12 year old friend and his dad (big Everton fans) when we came from 2 down to win 3-2 with a Tony Currie winner 6 minutes from time.
Being in the Everton end with them only me and one other Blade who had infiltrated let out a scream.
Our drive back to Southport was completed in silence by them after they were giving me stick at half time. singing we want 5. They got it! haha

Think the 2-0 (Bradshaw, Hodges) was a night match. Away fans were behind the goals (to the left) before the move to the stand at the side of the pitch. Brilliant atmosphere that night.

Wilder (who was a Millers player at the time) was with his mates a few rows in front of me singing their heads off

Played 12 Won 7 drew 1 lost 4
I’ve been to five of those wins. I missed the first one in 1970, I heard the result sitting on a train in Bristol Temple Meads on my way home from a holiday, some pigs sat across the aisle not happy as I think they’d lost, and obviously missed today.

Out of the wins, I missed 1971 because I was on a family holiday at Ayr, missed 1975 cos I was at boarding school and today (saw it on BT Sports)

If we don't return to the Premier League soon it could be our last ever visit to Goodison Park.
