Whist I whole heartedly agree about Coutts I can't agree about Duffy. I wish him well and am grateful for his help in United's rise to the top but he could have been playing premier league football for us bar for his greed. It'd be nice to have them here on trial for pre-season and play in a friendly match with fans so we can give them a proper send off
Perhaps against a local league 1 team from Sheffield?
(I do this on Football Manager)
Is that a reply to my post?Yep. Dem £4M payoffs eh?
Yep. Dem Wilder abilities.I'm old enough to remember when nobody rated coutts
Agreed. Always played on the front foot. Super player. It’s weird when you think I’ve been watching United for nearly 50 years and Mark Duffy is up there as being the player that I enjoyed watching the most.
Also thought Couts was class at times...always plays the nice and simple ball to feet....always keeps possesion.
Cannot blame anyone asking for more money, maybe, in hind sight, if we had had a more balanced manager at the time the solution would have been different.Whist I whole heartedly agree about Coutts I can't agree about Duffy. No problem whatsoever with asking for better terms. Had he not just signed a much improved contract?Shocking that someone should ask for a performance related pay rise.
Yes, if memory serves, he had signed a new contract. No problem whatsoever with asking for better terms. Had he not just signed a much improved contract?
After Duffy scored that goal at the sty wilder never looked on him the same.
Saw an interview with wilder shortly after and he looked a little uncomfortable mentioning that "Duffy had scored a goal that will be remembered here forever" quite a joyless expression on his face, not quite jealousy, just maybe a thought that would be the defining moment of wilders manegerial career at united. Mark Duffys goal..
Was it? If its not, it's fucking up there isn't it..
When he wanted more money his performances had dropped off and he couldn't last beyond 60 minutes.Shocking that someone should ask for a performance related pay rise.

As a Wilder fan, I have to say the fact we didn't really have a no.10 aside from Mcgoldrick dropping deep was a surprise. Freeman is this sort of player too, but whatever anyone thinks, he's not really been fit this season for us or Forest. But a fit Luke Freeman could be v.good for us next season. "Could"Agree The Holy Trinity on form were absolutely unreal. I remember standing on the Leeds Kop when Brooksy scored the winner. The three midfielders were absolutely outstanding that night, ran rings around Leeds and the fans at Elland Road were in shock how dangerous they looked. Wonderful to see.
The biggest mistake this season was not signing a number 10. It’s an integral part of how the CW system works and would have prevented teams just putting a roadblock down either flank.
It's probably the biggest stand out moment for me alongside Basham's goal against Leeds. I was on holiday in Croatia and it was pissing it down so me and the mrs were inside having a late lunch and I had it on my phone on a bet 365 stream that played a goal noise about 10 seconds before the actual goal went in!After Duffy scored that goal at the sty wilder never looked on him the same.

What a wanker Wilder is, got rid of Duffy and only got us to 9th in the Premier League. We'd probably have won it had we kept him.Cannot blame anyone asking for more money, maybe, in hind sight, if we had had a more balanced manager at the time the solution would have been different.
