I just find it odd where we are in terms of talking about this kind of stuff. Didzy is a pretty well respected and experienced pro. He doesn’t strike me as someone making a political point. He just sounds absolutely fed up with this racist crap on social media which he says is getting worse. I’m inclined just to listen to what he’s saying and have a think about what we can do to sort it out.

It’s odd to me that these days there’s an emerging response of “the racist abuse is completely wrong but...”. The racist abuse is completely wrong but it’s not as bad as it used to be. The racist abuse is completely wrong but all footballers get abused so he should hire someone to delete the racist abuse from his Instagram. The racist abuse is completely wrong but we never used to talk about it back in the day, it wasn’t an issue. The racist abuse is completely wrong but come on, why does it have to about race all the time?

I’m watching that video and seeing a completely reasonable guy, who probably the last thing he wants to be doing is talking about this stuff, who is absolutely fucking sick to his back teeth of hearing that “but” in the year 2021. Because nothing fucking changes. And you can tell by the look in his eyes he has little hope that it will. And he and other people will live with this crap every day until it does.

As I said previously, all of this should be reported to the authorities and the perps have huge punishments. Famous people hire bodyguards and security to stop them being attacked. It's sad but a way of life. Would you suggest that Barack Obama stops using bodyguards and security in real life? I imagine not, because the world is terrible and a high profile figures are targets.

Same for online. Therefore people should use when they can online bodyguards etc.

And also we have to change the way that we in real life. If you were Jewish and were in Iran would you walk around with an Israel flag on you wearing a kippah? You should be able to do that in real life, sadly it's not to be recommended and that's not victim blaming.

It's more ridiculous to say that people, especially high profile ones, shouldn't have security and bodyguards.
