They need a poster girl. Or a few of them. The olympics had Jess Ennis for example. She's easy on the eye.

Sky sports peddle out Sue 'box ticker' Smith to talk bollocks.

I'll call names for this, but if you want blokes to get into women's football, show us the good looking players and get us interested. I'd watch it if there were more Kelly Brooks than Kelly Osborne's, for example.

Go on, hit me with the sexist stuff...

I suppose it’s not dissimilar to sudden uptakes in female interest in the men’s game when a Jamie Redknapp/David Beckham type comes along.

But think that has to be organic - if a few top female players just happened to be smoking hot it wouldn’t hurt the promotion of the game, as long as they aren’t immediately plastered all over lad mags etc.

Edit: look what Anna Kournikova did for women’s tennis without ever winning owt.

The big problem for the women’s game is that there just aren’t enough people interested in it to make it economically viable. You may get some big crowds for special games/ internationals etc but the people most interested in football will have their teams already, men’s teams, and not enough of them will ever be prepared to go to both men’s and women’s games, if for no other reason than time. As my old granny used to tell me “you can’t be slaves to 2 masters”, it’s why I gave up golf! The only chance as far as I can see is if they can get enough girls/ woman interested enough to actually go to games, I hope they can.......but I very much doubt it. UTB

Weren’t she the one taking the piss out of the English when US easily beat England in the last World Cup.

When she scored for some reason she stopped and made the gesture she was drinking tea with her little finger stick out.
Assume she thinks all English people are upper class tea drinkers.

In fact the US women’s team received a bit of stick for arrogance and being disrespectful in the last World Cup, they were excellent though.
I remember when she beat Thailand (was it 13-0) they were dancing on the touch line..every time they scored they celebrated like it was a winner in the final.

Sheffield United ladies. A minority organisation trying to gain traction which, by its very name/colours/association AUTOMATICALLY alienates 50% of the city in which it resides. Absolute madness. I don't think anything but a 'neutral' ladies side stands a long term chance in Sheffield.

We spend money that Chris Wilder really needs, just to give the ladies a chance to succeed too. If they want to chat shit about us, they can do so without being on our payroll.
We wouldnt accept this on the mens side, why should we on the womens side?

They looked set to have their own stadium in the city with the Olympic park building McCabe owns. Was due to be the first women's focused stadium in the country I think. The court case ended all that. Now they play in chesterfield infront of even fewer with no real chance of growing whatsoever. At least the mass gathering ban has zero effect on them.

I know Mick Speight applied for the women's managers job Mick has coached both men and women in Norway successfully a player who spent ten years a Blade and also captained them he got a reply Thank you for applying but we will not be inviting you for a interview Mick wants to move back to Sheffield and has a very impressive C.V what's disappointing is that some people easily forget that some people have contributed to the history of this brilliant football club He might not be the right person for the job but surely deserved an interview

Dunno why people are so bothered about the women's game growing, as if it needs to become as popular as the men's to be worth having.

People playing football at a high standard who enjoy it. A few people who want to watch it. A state media and incredibly rich FA that can support it. What's the problem?

This is what baffles me. Why name call, this lass sounds upset by her experience at Lane. So instead of calling people plebs. Just out them. Say names and point the finger. Otherwise this just looks bitter.
I like women’s footy and often catch a game and watch some Sunday league stuff. But to be fair I’d watch footy whoever plays it I think it’s great.

Our new signing Courtney Sweetman-Kirk was a guest presenter with Jamie O’Hara on Talksport last night.
That means yesterday we actually bought TWO strikers from Liverpool.

Jamie kept introducing her as Sheffield United‘s latest signing,
Don‘t know what she’s like as a football....but she came across well on the radio....decent personality and good talker.

Blokes aren't going to pay for a ticket and spend a chunk of their day at a ground to watch women's football to see a load of attractive women play football poorly when they can stay at home and load up PornHub for free.

Men have the advantage in almost every way imaginable when it comes to any contact sport, and only to a slightly lesser extent in non contact sports, so it's always going to be a better spectacle.

It's not an exaggeration to say that a decent Sunday league team who you could watch for free a few miles from your home are likely of a very similar standard as the best women's teams.

Nailed on signing, given Liverpool cancelled her contract and Redfearn was the one who signed her for Liverpool.

Noticed the SUFC YouTube channel has been posting alot of the women's team alately, guessing it's down to the mens team on international duty. Be better if they had their own official channel from the club, for both parties.

I don’t think you are looking carefully enough if that is what you need OR you have very high standards !
