Sounds like Wilder to me, he never did own any of his mistakes at the end of the day and he still isn't. I don't get where that is class, I call it passing the buck and looking after his self interests. Still all that matters is he got his pay off and no relegation on his CV technically.

Might not have ended this way if everyone just shut up and got on with being relegated. Why anyone at the club would choose to stink the place out by slagging the board or being negative in any way really when you want to try and get the fans back onside for a Championship campaign after a season of being just about the worst team ever.

Wilder didn't have boos ringing in his ears once and I still think he had enough slack not to get boos right at the end, even if there was fans in the ground. He wasn't pushed out by the fans at all.

Maybe I was a little over the top yesterday when I said fuck him on page 1, but he walked out on us when we needed him the most, that pissed me off. It was cowardly and defeatist. I never saw CW as any of those until he left the club in this position. He was happy to take the credit but bolted when some criticism was due. (I would have had him here next season had he wanted to stay).

The way it all ended was embarrassing unfortunately, the dire performances, poor signings, demands for a massive pay off after resigning, just leave with your head held high, he has been paid massively over the last few years I would have thought.
But equally, what an amazing and brilliant 4 years before this season, the club in theory is now in a very strong position player wise and financially compared to 5 years ago when we were on our knees and broke

This.. 100%. And even Fergie got criticised for leaving a team ill prepared for the next stage of their development.

I don't think you're divisive or toxic. I also don't think a very small minority being complete dicks about Wilder is representative of the fan base. Complete guess but maybe 5 in a hundred have real issues with Wilder and it's mainly because he dared to be rich and successful (and they are pricks) and then he wanted more money. Like they wouldn't have done the exact same thing themselves.

The vast majority recognise we'll most likely never have it as good again and are extremely sad that it fell apart in the way that it did. And the ovation he'll get if he's ever at Bramall Lane again will be the biggest since Deano came back for his second spell.
