I seem to remember a time when McCabe was barely off our screens. New hotels, Europe in 4 years, Hungarian football clubs, Chinese football clubs. A man of the people, ringing up supporters directly to discuss their concerns etc etc. I actually never warmed to him and always saw him as an arrogant, patronising git but thought at the time 'fair play to him he is at least engaging with the fans'.

Well where are you now McCabe? Where are any of the United hierarchy? When the going gets tough is seems as though the rich get going - out of the door and as far away from the fans they have let down as possible. I am so f*cking angry with this Board. I've seen us relegated many a time but never, never with this lack of balls, this complete flaccid, cowardly and inept handling of the footballing catastrophe that is United.

Somebody please get hold of this situation anf f*cking manage it properly! That means talking to the fans now, acknowledging the mistakes and putting forward a blueprint for how we will go forward from here. Do not tell me I'm not a 'true blade' if I don't turn up and watch this shower of shite, do not patronise me with 'super deals' for season tickets that will disappear if i don't hurry. You morons managing the club need to realise that you need us fans and, increasingly, you need us a lot more than we need you. So sodding well talk to us, enagage with us, get your heads out of the sand and start acting like you actually care.

Tell us what YOU think went wrong - most of us believe we already know but we need to hear it from you so we can be reassured you won't make the same mistakes again. Rome isn't burning anymore, it's already a blackened, charred heap. You can stop playing your fiddles and come out and meet us amidst the debris. Maybe, just maybe if we start life in the third tier with a new relationship between club and fans we can start to feel a new sense of identity. Or perhaps, as I suspect, you really are too arrogant, too incompetnet and too damned clueless to even know what I am talking about.

Sounds to me like you would like the chance to invade McCabes personal space

Top post BaldeRunner.
Several nails hit firmly on the head.
We are essentially broken as a football club with no sense that anybody at the top recognises this.
If and when they're prepared to accept this, they need to apologise and set out clearly what they're going to do to fix us.
When they've done this, they can come out with a new appeal to supporters for support, coupled with a new and sensible approach to selling season tickets and match-day tickets.
Until and unless they do this, all else will be pissing in the wind.

I think the Board know full well what the situation is.

We're up the creek without a paddle.

We're up the creek without a paddle.

Trouble is, as a replacement we have a Cricket Bat on Order.

Well, when I say on Order, Birchy is scouring the World for one at the right price, though he may have located one to loan ........

I was going to whittle on about the Cricket Bat having an agent etc etc but don't want to take the finest OP I've ever read off topic.

Top Stuff.

Agreed...apart from his recent "We wont go down" speech, he has been unbelievably quiet...be interesting to see what he and Birch have to say when the season closes.

I put the blame at the players door not McCabes.
The defence has been torn apart and replaced with loans and not good enoughs.
Get better players then I hear you say but mid season with all the best players tied down
you can only scratch around trying loans i.e. people not good enough for their parent club
or players coming back from injury who need a game.
So all we do is make do and hope that it's good enough to last to the end of the season.
As we can all see it's not good enough.
Rebuild in the summer the seasons over

someone at the club could do with reading that, top post

We still agree on some things.......:)

Cracking OP, BaldeRunner.

Points well made, we all hear your pain, share it, but the club couldn't give a flying fig.

You mean to say the club don't care about us...

Can't wait to see what happens at end of season, Birch did say that the time to point the finger would be then

Like our newly appointed head of supporter communications, Richard Batho.

I read Richard Batho's comments about the match in the Observer today. Apparently we all played well, it was a good game, they just sneaked it. Elephants, rooms, emperors, clothes,,,,,,,,

So we are basically paying him to write match reports for the fucking Observer.

He has written for it for quite a while as an independent supporter, which now he is on the pay roll is quite clearly not.

Fair point Brownie.
He should not be doing match reports as he is now a paid club employee.
Not on at all and sadly just another cock-up from our otherwise invisible fans rep.

Really? Did you cut and paste this from last April?

Until I read these postings i hadn't realised there had been a change in his status. I was, however, surprised by his views today and I am now beginning to understand why. You really couldn't make it up - reminiscent of the Monty Python Upper Class Twit of the Year Race

Christ give it a rest on Batho, yeah things are shite, piss poor. But this isn't Bathos doing. The guy came in to do a job, because fans said the club was disconnected from the fans. Now he's the scapegoat because he writes an article in the independent. How pathetic.

As for McCabe, he's stepped down and left things to Birch and Steer. Put your attention there.

Perhaps they're being quiet because they're trying to rebuild the club or perhaps they just think they'll get shite regardless of what they say. What can they say now though?

Things went down hill behind the scenes as it became apparent Warnock was going. The bond that was evident between Manager and Chairman has never been the same since. We will never be where we think we deserve to be while ever that backing and support isn't there for the Manager. McCabe has been more worried about being a tax exile than actually who is in charge and running his businesses for him.

It's about integrity Swiss, something our club's been in short supply of.
Now he's a paid employee he shouldn't be writing articles as a 'fan'.

I got the Observer yesterday, aint got it in front of me now so cannot 100% confirm, but I am almost certain it wasn't Batho who wrote the summary of the match and I don't think he has done it since he became consultant/employee or whatever he is.

OP is absolutely spot on. cant remember ever reading a post as on the nail as this one.

45 years a Blade here and cant ever remember feeling as despondant as I am now.

Fo me the unthinkable has happened, Im actually on the point of booking a cruise instead of getting my season ticket. In the past this would not have even been a matter for thought. The Blades would have been first opton every time.

The way I feel at the moment is Im not bothered if I never go again.

Unheard of!!!!

Whats happened to me????

So can we blame the Conservatives for the mess the economy is in?
