So some nob saying that cyclists shouldnt be on the road is fine and light hearted? Id say he is the cock, along with you who think its ok to write that shite and to threaten harm to others as well. Finally, do you think I give 2 fucks what people like you think of me? 🤣🤣
Everyone whose posted so far has been around this place for ages, and understand its just banter. You waltz in like some kind of public defender cyclist evangeliist for people who don't need defending and label people nonces.
Youve made yourself look like a total twat.

It wasnt banter. I see the same shite thrown at cyclists all the time so dont even try to excuse it. And again I dont care what you or anyone of your little friends thinks of me, or how long you have been on here. So again, fuck you.

Oh bore off.

So are we getting together for a bit of two wheel horseplay then or what? knowsnowt I've got a spare push iron tha can borrow if tha wants? Or would you prefer a tandem with essexblade73 ? šŸ˜†
Sadly I'm a bit old these days, creaky knees mostly. I'd happily hold up the rear and "encourage" people along though. You know, a back wheel nudge here and there for stragglers.
I wouldn't even claim for the petrol. :)

Well, that escalated! šŸ˜‚

Some news regarding this coming soon, following a good chat with the right people the other day.

I'll be doing a proper post about it very soon once it's a bit more finalised with stuff in place etc

Great to hear! I guess we can ignore all the daft arguments if we have a bunch of us not looking to get out and cycle

Sorry if it's already been mentioned, but would it be road or trail cycling?

Off topic but is there a similar group for golf? Anyone :tumbleweed:
There will be something for both, could be exciting news!

Good mention about golf, that could tie in to other things that are in the pipeline as well, I'll pass it on!

Breaking News:

Farage to shout at cycle lanes

Having shouted at fellow MEP’s, dinghy’s and people in hotels Nigel Farage a career politician who hates career politicians has decided to shout at cycle lanes.

Rumours that he is to shout at anything else have not been confirmed.

If you ever drop on TPT with the mountain bikes let me know. Rother Valley to Chesterfield is a steady ride for newbies...

Its still in the pipeline, everything got a bit sidetracked with the last lockdown and with the fact I've since had my knee surgery which has hit me harder than I thought it would!

But I'm looking to get back in touch with the team at the community foundation soon and try and get the ball rolling again.

I'd had some good discussions with them and with British Cycling and it's definitely something that can work and definitely something I still want to do! Now lockdown is easing a bit, hopefully can get something sorted for the summer months šŸ¤žšŸ»

Saw a funny one t,other day. I live near the river Dearne and always walk the dog along the paths.Trans Pennine Trail runs all way along it and very very popular with cyclists and scrubbers on their 5cc lawn mower engine nicked motor bikes.
4 cyclists riding along when a motor bike with 2 fat kids (no helmets of course)came puthering along doing about 15mph blowing smoke out of the exhaust when one of them shouts abuse to the cyclists as they puthered their way in between them. One of the cyclist pedalling like the clappers shot after them: caught them and kicked them off. You had to be there but it was reyt funny at the time.

And the moral of this tale, don't mess with the boys in lycra!

Controversial question I know, but what formation would the SUFC cycling club use on the roads, 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 or even 4-3-3...
just asking like.....

My only issue is when one of the stealth heat seeking cycles approaches at my rear end. Gaini Blades radar ain't what it used to be nor is my ability to walk in straight lines. With a bod like this it would be as if the cyclist hit a moose and the bike would surely have to be written off.

We would stick with what we know regardless of results occasionally making a baffling substitution of one the cyclists.

I think a traditional (as in late 19th to mid 20th century traditional) 2-3-5 formation would work best, making it progressively harder for frustrated motorists to overtake.
Personally I adopt the "1" formation as I have very little ability for any sort of commitment to anything, other than going to The Lane.

In Leeds they have roads for cyclists alongside roads for cars.

Asking cyclists to contribute is surely a reasonable thing to ask?

This is a section of the Leeds/Bradford cycle highway

To the extent that I think that many of our fans are a set of cunts, I'd be quite happy to see a portion of them at least having an organised group so I can visually identify and avoid them.
