Lowton, Quinn, Lowry & Riise are decent. The rest are a fucking disgrace to the shirt. And how slow are we? We are slow all over the pitch. No pace to break against teams and no pace to recover when teams break against us. Henderson was the biggest culprit today - he should have had 4 - but Boro were really poor, there for the taking and we blew it.

I do feel though is that a large portion of the blame lies in our technical inability. The squad as a whole seems unable to perform on a basic level with any consistency. Even Wenger couldn't turn our first team squad into footballers and yet this was what we were meant to believe Speed could do with next to no change in playing staff and that Adams was then meant to pick up the pieces from.

So to some degree Adams has been left with the dregs of a seriously broken system and probably is in the process of proving that the shambles behind the scenes means his job is harder than it really should be.

What's left now is the biggest job that may be impossible. Stripping out basically everyone on the playing staff, building passion and pride quickly within the players that are then brought in and rebuilding the relationship with the fans who need to see more from all levels of the club. Not really since Bassett originally came in has that been an option and the days of signing ex-players because they'll play for you for peanuts are long gone. Seasoned players now want seasoned player wages and there's no evidence of us having the scouting network to discover a new squad of players in record time either. I don't even have hope for many of the academy lads. Without being intentionally cruel, I have serious doubts over their ability to step up given the lack of pace and ability that seems to be evident in all recent highlights we've been shown.

I don't consider Adams to be a terrible manager because I honestly don't see we are any better or worse than we would've been under Blackwell or Speed. I certainly feel that having Cork on board and Bassett as Godfather leaves us stronger than we were with Blackwell, Speed and Ellis at the start of the season. But I don't see where the new dawn is going to break from. The next Brian Deane doesn't exist for £15k (or whatever silly sum it was) and the next Paddy Kenny can't be found easily either. The days where a defender like Morgan could be the difference seem to have gone now too. And show me where the next Gordon Cowans type midfield general is who doesn't demand a small fortune and can actually play proper football. The whole system is broken and as fans we expect better but at the same time our memories are tainted with the finer moments of those small glories in the past.

The next few years are going to be painful for us and I don't think getting rid of Adams is the answer just yet. There does need to be serious thought behind the scenes with regards to backing and recruitment to plan for the future.

In regard to Collins and Doyle, we as fans are comparing them to Morgan, Jags, Killa and Brown when they were at their best for us. Neither are as gifted as these players were in their peak time with us but unlike many I do see that they make us a more stable squad to then add to. They are more like the Jamie Hoyland and David Tuttle standard in terms of performance, but the days of a new manager coming in and picking up a Paul Beasley or Michael Brown for peanuts in the blink of an eye are long gone and there needs to be some reality brought to our current situation and that of the game in general.

I agree with most of your post there pal but I ain't comparing Doyle to Brown, just comparing him against what should be regarded as a competent Championship midfielder. He manages to make Monty look like a world beater.

I'm comparing Collins and Doyle to average Championship footballers and recognising they do not reach that level.
Both were reserves in average Championship teams, both had been on loan in League One last season.
If anyone thinks Collins in particular makes us a more stable squad, you're going to be watching that squad in League Two soon enough.

A few points:

Adams brought several of our technically poor players to the club - Collins, Doyle, Bent to name but 3
I'm not comparing Collins or Doyle to anyone. I judge them on their own merits - & Collins in particular is terrible
Adams has made a team that was already lacking in pace even slower - teams pick us off easily on the break
McCabe takes most of the blame for systematically destroying the club over the last few years - but Adams' truly abysmal record, poor signings & inability to sort out any of our problems on the pitch suggest he is not up to the job

if only speed was here through January. Who knows who he might have signed and where we might be now? I'm guessing he'd not have signed Doyle and Collins in favor of spending money on any player with an ounce of competence about them. I think he'd also be using some of the young Irish and Norwegian lads (I know Tonne featured today)

I also think that if he was still here we'd be around 16/17th.

Mo message

100% agree. We will be preparing for Div 2 this time next year. Total clearout needed from top to bottom needed.
No excuses - we are a poor excuse of a football club. Led by a board of directors who have the 'ostrich syndrome'.
2 wins in 19 says it all.

i am so mad tonight one bad move bringing in Adams

Adams,Fuck off now and take Doyle and Collins with you

I'm Revolution and I support this message.

I was for Adams when he came in but he has shot himself in the foot with what i can only describe as abysmal signings in Doyle & Collins.
They truly must be one of the worst players to pull on the shirt in the last 10+ years?
I know our defence was shaky at times but im sure most people would take Bartley over Collins any day of the week.

Dear Oh Dear Mccabe, what a disgrace you have made of your tenure these last 2 years.

I still have hope though that youth can can us back up to Championship level, but it will take a long hard slog to acheive this. And if any of the crown jewels are sold it will be the broken donkey back syndrome for me.

Where do I sign?

Said it after QPR, but I could defend Micky if we were bottom 3 with the same team he was left with, but he let a couple of players go who were infinitely better than those he brought in, so the sympathy I have for the bloke is evaporating by the day.

I was quite optimistic when Adams was appointed, but now I'd be more than happy if he did the decent thing and walked. If we sack him we'll have to pay up his contract - will McCabe be brave enough to sack his second manager in a year? I highly doubt it. If MIcky is a "True Blade" then he should do the honourable thing and not be at the Lane.

Giving Adams the opportunity to rebuild in the league below will be like giving a toddler a hand grenade.
