Get next season's manager in now!

I get that we're shocking, and that Heckingbottom has a tough job blah blah blah, but what's the point of taking him from his highly successful Under 23 team when Gary Sinclair could do the same thing we're currently doing, which is get Wilder's coaching notes and tell the coaches to train the players to them, and then go on Instagram and find an old team sheet and tell the media team to get on Photoshop and change the opponent.

I honestly despair.
 
Agreed.

When you sack a manager you need a plan that what you do next will be better.

Its one thing to go on Sky Sports and explain yourself, your position and drop subtle digs in against the old manager.

However, you’ve then got to act smart and bring in the new man to turn things around. Keep players on their toes, get everyone that’s going to be here in august fighting for their places.

And finally, it shuts the fans up from getting on your back.

Time to make the move Prince...
 
I wanted this as well, however... im now thinking it wouldnt be a good idea. Whoever came in now would only have these players to work with and probably would go on the same losing run.

A clean start is whats required, no bad taste is left in the mouth should he lose the remaining games of this season.
 
I 100% agree. There is no point is replacing a manager with another one who continues to play the exact same team, same formation and achieves worse results. At least try something different. We knew before the game today exactly how this would play out, and it, by the book.

What also concerns me is this is the under-23 manager, in charge of their development and progress. If he really isn't prepared to play any of those players and prefers the same old professionals who have patently failed, and in some cases just given up completely, over some of our youngsters then you have to question if he is the right person to be in charge of them.
 
I disagree.

If we get a manager in now he’s going to be lumbered with the same poor squad options which will likely see very little improvement. This will lead to negative opinion of him from the outset which is often difficult to overcome. I’d rather we give the next guy the chance of winning from the start.

He wont be judged on the rest of the season. It seems crazy to me that we aren’t getting someone so they can see the squad and decide what players they want to bring in

I know what you mean pal but whether a change is made now or after the final game of the season we will be a Championship side next season regardless.

Now is not the time for reactionary decisions, the Prince needs to show a cool head, take him time and make the right appointment, if that takes a little more time then do be it.
 
Anybody on that list apart from Tindall must be thinking thanks but no thanks after watching each passing game,because this is turning into a major rebuild of players and identity,not just a few canny incomings and attemot an immediate comeback.

Totally agree mate but the right appointment made too late means we're struggling to catch up with the rest of the division. Make it soon, and even if he can't actually come until Summer he can have us coaching players in his style of play. ANYTHING BUT THIS BOLLOCKS!

Whilst he’s in charge of the coaching and substitutions he doesn’t have ultimate oversight on the development of our youngsters that falls to academy manager Jack lester who’s record is stellar in that regard I’m sure if the coaching wasn’t up to snuff he would address it.

It’s not just about being judged. It’s the psychological effect of being associated with defeats.

We need a proper fresh start in June.

People say we are imploding but it DOESN'T change the fact we are relegated.....so logically there's no rush.

Agree......we will be much more attractive to a manager if he starts with a clean slate.
Unless a manager was desperate I don't think anyone with ability would come in now....they would be immediately starting with an up hill struggle.

It's surprising what a new start...a new manager....starting afresh can do.
If a new man comes in now...it will be harder for him to work his magic because he would be starting with a culture of failure.

this really. If a new manager came in and nothing changed, what would the response be on here? With 7 games left and a limited squad there's very little anyone can change.

He absolutely will be judged in the rest of the season if he comes in and there is no positive impact.

Imagine if he comes in, assesses the squad and decides that playing Lundstram is still one of the better options (it’s not like we have many others). He’d be hammered on here immediately

edit: as Geordie Blade says, it’s more about the psychology of it. He’d be tainted by this seasons train wreck. Let him come in when he can have a clean slate
