At the start of the Whitecaps vs Toronto game (called First Kick 2011 by the MLS) there was a shot of the crowd and among the sea of white shirts was a bloke in this year's Blades shirt looking mighty resplendent.

The game was called (commentated) by Luke Wileman who is now the football correspondent for a Canadian sports channel.

Good game too; Whitecaps won.

There's a kid in Adelaide who wears a Blades shirt permanently! He's got a fine collection of shirts going back over the years, different one every day. He's never been to Sheffield, his Dad came from the Wybourne Estate before he emigrated, and he's just supports the Blades because of his Dad. Everyone calls him Jimmy Blade.

He only took it off to wear an England Cricket shirt during the ASHES! And what a mauling that was!!

I didn't bother with a season ticket this year as the stadium is a temporary one out of town and I wanted to see which players we bought first as tickets aren't too cheap. Might go to a couple of individual games.. the Beckham game will obviously sell out
