Fair play to the Prince for speaking openly, it’s obviously his version of the events. And as the Queen says, some recollections may (no doubt) vary.
I think the big message was that the Prince did put faith in Wilder, he did pay him well. However, we may never know how this was reflected in how Wilder felt he was left to do his job.
I don’t think that it’s unreasonable for a manager to have complete control of recruitment targets, it’s the clubs responsibility to look after the money side and set budgets.
I think the Prince is also correct that Wilder should be accountable for failings in those areas
