The truth is as fans we'll never know! There will be fault on both sides.

What I do know is that I'm gutted by the decision but life goes on. As a Blade I've seen worse - relegation to Division 4 being one example.

It was clear from the performance yesterday that this has really affected the players and the rest of the management team. This needs sorting urgently. We need to see some leadership from the Prince that gives hope we can mount a promotion bid next season. The board can't allow the situation to drift.

As I said in another thread that was a slow decline this is more like lemmings over a cliff. We didnt go from 9th in Division 1 to Division 4 in around a year. Arguably its just as bad. At the moment what is happening is showing the pessimists and optimists in bigger light and then the 3rd camp of down right angry clangers. I`m in the hybrid angry optimist camp with slight bots of pessimistic tendancies. :D

It was a slow painful watch from 76 to 81. I think I'm in your camp. We need to stop the remaining lemmings who got us to 9th in Prem from leaping over the cliff

I am (thankfully) too young to have witnessed the Div 4 years. If anything, during my time watching United I have probably witnessed more mediocrity than anything else, punctuated by the occasional patches of brilliance and crapness.

Our recent success has been head and shoulders the best time I have ever had though, and it's just so typical that it has crashed and burned so badly, but it seems to be the way with us.

I agree that this is a huge moment for the Prince now, as he already seems to have the majority of the fanbase on his back. The decisions he makes over the coming weeks and months will determine whether he can bring some folk back around. Some I suspect will never forgive him, despite blame clearly being on both parties, but he can't do anything about them.

Just make some calm, reasoned decisions and make sure we don't head towards the 3rd tier again. All drama aside, I think we are still a long long way from that with the core playing squad.
