Does anybody know how long the NDA is in force? We might know who to blame when both sides of the story are revealed.

Until then I am thinking both sides are responsible and it sounds as though neither side wanted CW to leave but neither side were willing to compromise.

The board are at fault regarding how they have gone about him going but it was very abrupt. If he was going to be sacked it would have happened months ago. So something happened Thursday evening or Friday morning that broke the camels back.

When we bought another club before a training ground? Seems strange timing that we announced this United World expansion on the Tuesday/ Wednesday and he walks on the Friday

Well apparently Wilder has asked to leave on more than one occasion this season and been convinced to stay.

Maybe that move to get another club has made Wilder finally walkout?
 
Realistically we're not going to be told anything publicly.

Which will mean supposition and people hanging off Twitter comments from the likes of JP and IW.

Some will say there is no need, its not our business, no doubt NDAs have been signed as always seems the way.

My concern now is that without that truth the club and supporters will eat themselves. Wilder came in and unified everyone and had us all pulling in the same direction.

We've now got some blaming Wilder, some blaming the board, and fans generally falling out.

Whilst this flux carries on there will only be heartache and division.

I was told from a friend that knows Wilder well he requested to leave in January after he wasn't backed. The last time he spoke to wilder was after the Fulham game, he said after he spoke to him he knew he was going. And they never really talk about football. Also Wilder mentioned the gulf in difference between Fulhams wage bill and ours when fans expected us to go there and atrack freely.
 
I blame Michael Oliver.
He disallowed the "Ghost goal" which would have put Villa down. Then Villa would not have been in the position to see which players Mitchel / Wilder recruited and then offer a bit more money and a bit more wages.
This therefore would have been more likely we would have secured Watkins and Cash and still had money left (as we wouldn't have bought Rammo) for a left CH.
Therefore the results would more likely have been enough to stay up and WIlder would still be here.

We didn’t attack freely against Bristol City and we’ve got a bigger wage bill than there’s.
 
Singing "he's Norwegian..." at Palace away on Sander Berge's debut now seems like a lifetime ago. Turns out it was the high water mark of a decades long journey of relegations, play off heartbreak, semi final defeat & charlatan managers (Robson & Adkins spring to mind).
The Chrissy Wilder years have been brilliant, a time I'll never forget . We were flying, on our way to every far flung city in Europe. BUT that day for me I saw a new signing that didn't seem to fit our system. A player with obvious pedigree and sought after apparently, who'll probably go on to be a superstar in a different team/league/system.

We were pretty ropey that day and fortunate that the Palace keeper chucked one in to give us a victory. I'll probably get dogs abuse for this, but we didn't get on top of the game until Lundstram replaced Sander in the second half.

We've been mostly ropey ever since and whether people blame Chrissy or the board, the problem for me is/was recruitment. The quality of it, positions covered and a general lack of awareness that the Promotion squad could not with the best will in the world over achieve forever.
To rub salt in, Ive got Warnock and Blacky down the road plotting a promotion push next season....I pray to god we join them.

Our problem is and always has been being bereft of serious money to compete with what makes a modern prem team . Being able to pay 50k a week plus wages throughout the squad. MINIMUM
We can't and won't sustain prem status like any other wannabe club until we can afford to pay squad players 2 to 3m pound a season minimum each.

We'd have to yoyo four or five times without a more affluent board to start to have enough money to stay up

TBF it may have been a worse idea to commit to them when losing all that money due to Covid

I’m not really blaming Wilder but we spent how much on a young forward ?? Maybe Wilder should have insisted we use the money on a JOC replacement

The only people who seem to think this isn’t a bad thing is a group of our own supporters. It’s a bit mental if I’m honest.
 
To be honest, nobody is coming out of this well, and I include a section of the support in that. Some of the abuse spouted because someone takes a different stance is disgraceful. Fan against fan just because they have a certain viewpoint.

We have to go through the usual football grieving process and try and blame someone. Tbh I am surprised fans haven’t turned on fans as much as they did when a few suggested it was time for Wilder to go.

For me it’s done, over finished and I really enjoyed the ride. However, like many have said about Wilder its time to go again. I’m not going to spend until next August bemoaning what’s happened but start looking forward to what’s going to happen.

The past 9 months the focus was on Wilder, his transfers and the terrible results. The next 9 months the spotlight is on the board and what they do about where we are. I’m going to keep my powder dry, sit back and watch with interest. Dust off the Rumours Board.

You never know, it might be another blast and everyone will forget what’s happened and remember One of our Own with lasting affection.

I think the next 4 or 5 months will tell us the answers, not because of any announcement, but by the type of replacement made and our transfer business before next season.

  • What area of the squad should we have spent on?
  • If the answer is "midfield", should Wilder have got a crystal ball out and foreseen Berge getting injured?
  • Did we not need a striker?

Defence, it was clear JOC was injured ages ago. Midfielder once he shipped Freeman out on loan.

We didn’t need two wingbacks.
