You've done more harm to this club than anyone in recent history.

Signed: Flawed

In all fairness, not only has he sorted out our future with the academy, but he oversaw our promotion season too. Just about everything since the middle of that season, however, has turned to shit. While I do think his heart was in the right place with many things, I think the best thing would be for someone else to take over. The trouble is, how does he sell a club without a buyer?

Publicly list it and encourage fans to buy the shares so the club is effectively fan owned?

But what would be the point in that. Even if the fans bought the club there wouldn't be sufficient funds to buy players etc once we owned the clubs. Barcelona is owned by the fans but they also have a billionaire bank rolling them. Without him they wouldn't be able to afford their star players - arguably they can't right now since they're massively in debt.

He could have have gone down as our greatest ever chairman but it has all gone tragically down the pan. It's time Mr Bean got his showbiz pals together and bought the club!!!! Maybe then we could have our Hollywood ending..........did you see what I did there?

Are you kidding?

At least we'd be in charge of our own destiny, so if some fat pie man put a £2million relegation clause in a future England international's contract we could stick the clause and pies up his arse.

No, I'm genuinely not. He has funded the academy, while other clubs have none. We're among a select few lower-league clubs that have great facilities for producing young talent.

And that has secured our future in League One?
The young talent we had was sold in five minutes - sales which have cost us way more than we got for them long term.
Anyone who comes through in future will also be sold.
Ain't it great developing young players for other teams. We're like a social service.

That is spot on. And if you go to the academy like i do with my kid and talk to the coaches, thats what a lot of them say too.
Completely demoralizing.

Being fair, we have a top 6 Academy here at SUFC. That is no exaggeration either.

It's just a shame every manager doesn't have the Bottle to select them for either the Bench or the First team. Especially in these financial times

I don't think that was ever the intention when the academy was set up. All of the problems on and off the pitch are a result of a number of mistakes and gambles not paying off.

To quote Tony Hancock's suicide note: It went wrong too many times.

I don't believe McCabe is solely to blame. We have two boards of directors muddling through somewhere. I also don't think McCabe will "Fuck off." It isn't that simple.

I am as clueless as McCabe, Adams, Birch or anyone else on how we are going to drag ourselves out of this mess.

There's a simple answer............. We won't get dragged out of it.

What they could do though to sell Season Tickets is give some intention of intent as to what we will do next season in League 1.

That should start with dissolving/cancelling the contracts of No longer wanted players as well as all the loan players we are not playing and playing the reserves and kids for the rest of the season because that is where the players will be on loan next season regardless where we finish this.

A plan is all people want, not the actual solution. Anything except this deafening mute that speaks volumes for the actual egotistical big b0llox board we currently have.

the lack of a plan spreads discontent and that is where we are.

I suspect McCabe dont know which way to turn at the moment, how does he get behind Micky when his record has been abysmal.

And for McCabe personally, how does he give Micky money to spend, he aint done very well so far.

Or does he sack him, if so could McCabe pick a manager todo the job in the 1st Divison.

If McCabe was handed a Bag, containing Jose Mourinio, Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger and told to close his eyes and pick one.

McCabe would be left holding the Bag .......

Exactly not much good having young players if they are sold after 5 matches in the first team.

No wonder why Micky doesnt have the bottle to play the youngsters they will be gone once another club comes calling.

It was actually... McCabe said so at the AGM in 2001 (?)

But what good are they to him as undiscovered talent playing in teh Academy side?

The club won't be able to afford to run the Academy in League 1, will it?

If he hypothetically left us tomorrow, here's what his legacy would be:

Pros:
- A much better financial position than when he took over (under the proviso that the debt to shares deal goes through)
- An academy with a crop of very promising youngsters
- Affordable football with great offers over the past few seasons in particular
- A brief season in top league that was fairly enjoyable where it lasted
- The sight of players like Jagielka, Beattie and the Kyles in red and white on the Bramall Lane pitch

Cons:
- An awful financial position worse than when he took over (under the proviso that the debt to shares deal doesn't go through)
- Our first trip to the third tier since the very dark days
- Sales of Sheffield United supporting players who will most likely go on to play for England
- Strange obsessives like Beighton and Mic
- The horror of managers like Bryan Robson, Micky Adams and Kevin Blackwell
- The horror of players like Neill Collins and Michael Doyle
- The continuation of this wideheld belief that we're the only selling club in the world

All in all, a very mixed bag.

The way McCabe is behaving with the Blades leaves two options...... he's skint and or doesn't care a fook.
