1st half
Shots for Blades 4 on target 1 off. forest 1 on target 4 off. More quality from Blades although the half was scrappy and to end it conceeding another sloppy goal was so frustrating.
2nd half
Not much for first part of it then Boggy won pen - nailed on and keeper saved.
To their credit our players seemed to pick up more and sam volkes got better and better.
He deserved his equaliser although everyone round us tought he was off side and we are in line - who cares about time one went for us.
We pushed on and they looked dangerous on break ,only because we got used to fearing the breaks.
won corners one of which was met by MATTY LOWTON bullet header, keeper no chance. GET IN. they tried to press but whilst the crowd feared we actually looked well capable of playing the game out and did so well in the end.
Quinn good again but MOM Matty Lowton. aint summing no others up, Just everyone enjoy this win.

COYRAWW --- Ahhhh.

Thats right, it was fantastic, well it were alreit. BUT FEELING WAS FANTASTIC.

Forgot to say, you missed Sam vokes contribution, I thought he was excellent.

Vokes did really well with the goal, especially as he looked completely knackered before that attack.

I didn't realise last night that it was Lowton who made the pass for Vokes to score, what was he doing up there and who cares?

It showed exactly what we've missed all season. Youth, athleticism, running, desire, ambition... The profile of our team has been all wrong.

PS - Just realised, am I Bergen in disguise?? :)

Dunno, do you make Barry White sound like John Inman?

Hang on a mo Pinchy!! Actually Lowton looks a good prospect, so expect that prospect to be sold in the summer.

Talent? Or is that too absurd to contemplate?

If it's a toss-up between three points and talented losers then I'll take three points every time. Unless of course the more talented team always wins, in which case we got both last night.

More polemicism.

I think Lowton is more talented than most of our players, albeit rather raw, but his contribution last night was more about the qualities I listed. For a player to arrive from full back and do what he did took those qualities above all others. Qualities the likes of Ertl, Cresswell et al do not have.

Of course we blatantly and damagingly lack talent, especially since losing Britton and Reid, but I was posting in the context of Lowton's contribution.

He played very well, I agree. Vokes had a very encouraging game too. Doyle and Montgomery are beyond a joke. To select both together is beyond farce.

Agree with that. I guess Doyle is the manager's boy, but unless he shows some as yet unseen quality very soon his position is unjustifiable.

Monty wasclearly not match fit last night, had a mare, even by his standards.

Who was the whelk that had the opportunity to shoot late in the first half, then (John Gannon stylee) passed to the right wing? Jeez.

Sorry yes in my excitment about the win, I forgot to mention how good he was. He even seemed to get better after he scored and right till the end of the game worked his socks off pressing the ball then holding it up to see the game out.

Vokes was utterly dead on his feet at the end. Lowton played a couple of routine "we're a goal up" balls down the right wing and absolutely no bugger was making the run.

We're hardly a lean mean fighting machine at the moment...
