A press conference wasn't called, there's a press conference before every round of games. It's that which was postponed and then cancelled. We'll probably be fined for not fulfilling that press duty. As others have said its rare a press conference is held to announce a manager departing, its normally a press release followed by a press conference to unveil the new manager

The press conference at 5pm was the usual pre-match one, it had just been put back from earlier in the day. That’s what they said on Sky Sports News at least.
