Tony Currie was your greatest pre war player.

David "shred" Spencer your greatest fan

Now Chris wilder joins those 2 legends as your best manager and you have let him go.He should have been backed to the hilt by the board as he's a true blade who cares passionately but not only that hes a top manager

As a Sunderland fan, it's highly unlikely you will do a Sunderland and fall through the leagues but you fans deserve so much more from your board.

Good luck lads n lasses

Oh don’t rule it out we managed it last time. Took more than a year but we made bad decisions following relegation which sowed the seeds for a terminal decline.

thanks mate what a stupid decision .He had more ambition than the club in the end. He started in none league and keeps going forward every year but the club only goes so far and then it is their tradition to slide all the way back down again. The only ones who will be happy are the pigs and that alone tells you every thing you need to know about this news. Instead of buying unknown clubs abroad the owner should be putting things right here first rather than spending millions buying third rate clubs abroad ,that money should be invested in the jewel in his crown which is the blades.

Sadly he's become a legend of a club destined never to aspire to anything. Any time we get a whiff of a chance to push on and be a big club we do something sensationally stupid. It will never change
they do it every single time mate.instead of buying third rate clubs abroad this clown prince should have looked after his main asset THE BLADES.

Whatever reason, this club just cannot get it together and sustain any success. We just can’t do it, and haven’t done it since the 1970s.

And the fans go through the mill once again.
Unfortunately our owner was saving his pennies for his french purchase instead of investing in his main asset playing in the riches league in the world and we are now paying the price. WELL DONE PRINCE GOT NOW'T.

It’s like McCabe all over again. Expecting us to get excited about investing in China, Australia and Hungary when all we wanted was for them to concentrate on OUR club. The Prince is the same. Why can’t they invest all their energy into ONE club? Personally I don’t give a flying fuck about “United world”. It’s Sheffield United or nothing

Currie was post war and it's just a typo I know.
When are we all meeting in the Championship again?

Haha thanks for that mate, next season is a possibility. We need to get promoted first ... But with the squad you have at your disposal you will be rightly regarded as one of the favourites. Brewster will come good I've got no doubt that mcburnie will find his level

But I would be more confident if wilder was still with you

Was watching one of Wilders early games, a 3 nil defeat by Southend on Shoreham view youtube .... Amazing how far he's took you in such a short space of time

The fact that Wednesday fans are so happy about the news makes you realise what a job he did.

To be fair we didn't do it in the 70's. I remember us finishing 5th/6th in 74-75 and narrowly missing out on Europe [3 pts]. The next season we were relegated by March with one of the fewest points ever.
